Alice In Wonderland

AIW was a cute attempt at getting Tweens into darker material. I didn't mind it, it just wasn't geared to my tastes. The "epic" battle at the end was pathetic, not only was there no blood, but chess vs. cards? come on Burton, that's just being stupid. There were a few inconsistencies, like how the cards were numbered even though there was clearly more than 10 cards present, or how in the first scene Alice's dress didn't change with her size when she drank the potion, but it did when she ate the cake and drank the potion a second time. I understand why those things were done though, and that is why I can't really complain about them. There were a few personal issues, however. I hated Crispin Glover's "Knayve" ("I like really big things"), and Alice's unnaturally high voice (notice how it didn't change from when she was a kid?) really pissed me off. Despite all that, I would gladly watch the film again, I just hope it doesn't get nominated for an Oscar that it doesn't deserve.
