| 5 Good Australian Rock Bands Of The 1990's Onward
I want to state here that this is NOT, i repeat, NOT the BEST Australian rock, it is simply my FAVOURITE. Understand these words and please avoid any hateful comments, there's no need for them here. | 1 | Powderfinger | 2 | Silverchair | 3 | Parkway Drive | 4 | Thirsty Merc | 5 | The Living End | |
Douglas
08.13.09 | Karnivool? Dead Letter Circus? Birds of Tokyo? Mammal?
Sleep Parade? The Red Paintings? etc etc | Eclectic
08.13.09 | To be honest I haven't listened to any of those guys much, show them to me and I'll probably love them but I just haven't been introduced to them yet.
Damn me and my mainstream upbringing. | KritikalMotion

08.13.09 | Well your at the right site to get into some descent music.
Check out -
Karnivool - Sound Awake, then work your way onto the other artists | Spare
08.13.09 | 1 and 5 sometimes, 2 most of the time, 3 and 4 lol. Needs everything Dougie said, plus The Drones and probably something else but idk | DaveyBoy
08.13.09 | No, no, don't listen to them eclectic. If you prefer more mainstream music, work your way slowly into those acts with a great big helping of Birds Of Tokyo. Trust me, you won't be sorry. | Vooligan
08.13.09 | Oh noes, ok so here's the essentials/most acessable:
Karnivool - Sound Awake
Cog - Sharing Space
Dead Letter Circus - Dead Letter Circus
Trial Kennedy - New Manic Art
The Butterfly Effect - Imago
Birds of Tokyo - Universes (start with this, catchy as hell)
Mammal - The Majority
Then, once you get through them, heres some less mainstream ones:
Jericco - Jericco
Rook - Add Colour
Twelve Foot Ninja - New Dawn
.hinge - The Rise and Fall of Living Great
Sleep Parade - Things Can Always Change
| Eclectic
08.13.09 | Just so you understand, I don't prefer mainstream music, its just what I've been exposed to.
Like I said, if you show me these guys I will love them.
Goddamn it, and I thought it was going to be hard enough getting a 16gb Mp3, I'll probably need a 30gb one after this lot, lol.
Oh well, thanks guys, I really appreciate the reccommendations. | Eclectic
08.13.09 | Damn, I just remembered who I forgot, Jebediah. They're supposed to have a new album out sometime this year. | CrackTheSkye
08.13.09 | Closure In Moscow - First Temple, The Penance and the Patience
A Death In The Family - Small Town Stories
House Vs. Hurricane - Forfeiture | Douchebag
08.13.09 | THE LIVING END! I love you man! | Eclectic
08.13.09 | They are a good band, admittedly I prefer their earlier stuff, but meh. | Jim
08.13.09 | thirsty merc are like the maroon 5 of australian rock - dorky as hell but jesus if every song they've written isn't catchy
your #1 is correct btw | Douchebag
08.13.09 | For me, Powderfinger can write a hell of a single, but their albums are hit or miss. Its the living end all the way for me, not one bad song written :) | Eclectic
08.13.09 | True, "Dream Days At The Hotel Existence" was really disappointing for me, which is why I'm hoping they've learnt their lesson and will improve with their new one (due out around December). And I can't stand Maroon 5 anymore. Songs about Jane was good, but "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" was too pop/dance for my tastes. Serioulsy, why did they do that duet with Rihanna?
