06.27.09 | with the exception of a couple pink floyd tracks, 3 is like the best song ever. 2 owns too. |
Blimps
06.27.09 | I was thinking of adding Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd or maybe Hyper Chondriac Music by Muse, but they don't give me that feeling in my stomach as these songs do. |
Blimps
06.27.09 | And Heart Of Snow by Black Mountain sounds all too depressing as well. Even the singer sounds like she's about to cry. |
Captain North
06.27.09 | I just listened to 3 because of this list, and I don't get it. It's just a normal post-rock song. |
Blimps
06.27.09 | Well, that's because these are the songs that sadden myself. That song just so happens to be an insider for me (a more personal connection) and may not relate to anyone else the same way it does for me.
But yes, without any mental visuals, the song is just another normal post-rock song. |
Captain North
06.27.09 | Or, you know, it sounds exactly the same as every post-rock song ever. Which severly detracts from any songs power. |
Captain North
06.27.09 | ...Fine, I listen to it as an individual composition, but that doesn't change the fact that I've heard it before with only minor changes each time. |
OllieS
06.27.09 | 3 is supposedly a love song, North. |
OllieS
06.27.09 | "Maybe nothing has ever happened to you in your life to make you appreciate something so simple but so beautiful?"
I don't think so man...if a song doesn't click it doesn't click, no matter how good it is (at least for me...) |
SuperDuck
06.27.09 | 3 is good. I haven't listened to it much, though, because it should be saved for special moments in your life, which says a lot about how good it is.
Also, if you haven't heard it, "Disintegration" by The Cure can be powerful if your in a bad mood. |
myhigherpie
06.27.09 | I actually cried during ashes in the snow by mono, so I know what you mean by 3.
Those post-rock songs really hit you in profound ways if you listen to them deeply. |
luci
06.27.09 | agreed with 2 and 3 |
luci
06.27.09 | This list urged me to give "Butterfly" a proper listen, and once I did, it became my favorite Weezer song. So thanks for that! |
natey
06.27.09 | you guys are a bunch of baby girls |
luci
06.27.09 | everyone needs a good cry every now and then even you natey :p |
Captain North
06.27.09 | Benzum, I'm one of the few people on here who doesn't get shit from technicality. Simplicty can affect me, just not when it sounds the same, like, that song feels like its the same notes and everything. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard is just a piano playing a few notes (Together We Can Live Forever by Clint Mansell) |
Piglet
06.27.09 | Simplicty can affect me, just not when it sounds the same, like, that song feels like its the same notes and everything.
Repetitiveness does usually affect the quality of which the song could be, if your statement contradicts to what your talking about.
Just tell Benzum that seeing your adhesive comments in course to making yourself heard could be better if you just, quite simply, sod off and respect my opinion. |
TREO5
06.27.09 | Grace by Dear and the Headlights sometimes gets me. |
Lions
06.27.09 | Hey, what do you know? I've cried to all of these! Then again, I have a playlist of 60+ songs that have brought tears to my eyes. |
Lions
06.27.09 | and North, I must agree with you. Sometimes all it takes are a few notes. And I love that Clint Mansell piece and I might just have to add one the most beautiful things I've ever heard, that being Sigur Ros' Untitled 3. |
KILL
06.27.09 | crying over songs? didnt even know this happened! |
Lions
06.27.09 | more often than not, it's not the song itself that makes you cry. The song usually just perfectly soundtracks a moment in your life and then all of those emotions that are already there mix with the beauty of the song and then boom, tears. Gay? Maybe. But there's nothing wrong with it. Actually helps alot of the time. |
foreverendeared
06.27.09 | listen to Repose In Blue by Eluvium, stat. Also, Untitled #3 by Sigur Ros |
Baphomet
06.27.09 | ... neither did I, KILL. |
Yazz_Flute
06.27.09 | Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonnaise
I'm serious =p
But yeah 3 is brilliant. |
Nagrarok
06.27.09 | ^agrees with last statement. |
