Overplayed Songs Of 2007 & 2008

2007 & 2008 just seemed like the years of overplayed mainstream songs, so here are some I heard & probably found annoying.
1Soulja Boy
Crank That (Soulja Boy)

Crank That launched Soulja Boy into infamy with terribly catchy, terribly
produced, & all-around terrible music. He had little kids "singing" about
supermaning ho's (if you don't know what it is look it up). Go to hell Soulja
Boy.
2Flo Rida
Low

Another annoyingly catchy hip-hop song that mainstream loved for about a
month or 2 & hasn't been played nearly as since. It's not nearly as terrible
as Soulja Boy, but still made many cringe when they heard it, especially
when it was for the 100th time. In fact, he reminds me of an older, slightly
matured Soulja Boy.
3Plain White Ts
Hey There Deliah

Not that bad of a song, but after hearing it so many, I really started hating
it. Not here b/c it's bad, but b/c of it was way overplayed.
4Linkin Park
What I've Done

I kind of like Linkin Park, but after hearing this song about 100 times with it
being on the radio from the rock stations to the pop stations, it being on
Transformers, & being on commercials, I just about gave up completely on
the band.
5Flo Rida
In the Ayer

In the Ayer is another annoying hip-hop song by Flo Rida that sounds alot
like Low. If you don't know it, let me give you an idea "Oh hot dam
(censored version says ham :|)
This is my jam
Keep me partyin till the AM
Ya'll don't understand
Make me throw my hands in the ayer, a-ayer, ayer, a-ayer"
Was extremely popular for about a month, it died out quickly. Read the rest
of the lyrics & you might understand why I think modern rap has fallen to
being complete crap.
6Rihanna
Umbrella

So what, is song about love, sex, or companionship? Regardless, this song
extremely popular during 2007 for about 5 months. Personally, I don't like
this song, but it's better than alot of the stuff that's popular in pop.
7Avril Lavigne
Girlfriend

"Hey! Hey! You! You! I don't like your girlfriend! No way! No way! I think
you need a new one!"- that will be stuck in my generation's heads forever.
8Katy Perry
I Kissed A Girl

Honestly, I'd rather listen to this than alot of other pop, but it's been
overplayed so much that everybody in the U.S. probably know the chorus,
including my six year old brother :|
9Metro Station
Shake It

Shake what exactly? Oh ya little kids need to shake their butts for guys...
Anyways, Metro Station is one of the bands that both the "scene" and
mainstream groups. Well to be honest I hate it, and it has nothing to do
with Miley Cyrus's brother being in the band.
10Flyleaf
All Around Me

Another song by a band I like, but it was still way overplayed. All Around
Me is easily one of the weakest tracks on the self-titled album. Which just
goes to show.
11Rihanna
Please Don't Stop the Music

I don't know enough about this song to give a reason, but it was definitely
overplayed during mid-2008.
12Soulja Boy
Yahhh!

Another Soulja Boy song; Yahhh! is one of the worst, if not the worst, song
I have ever heard. It's like it's one big joke to him, showing he can make a
hit by simply shouting "Yahhh! Bi***! Yahhh!" multiple times. It lacks any
slightly good parts Crank That has (Crank That's horrible, but at least it's
sort of catchy). Luckily, Yahhh! never made it to being played as much as
Crank That though. If it had, I 'd have been better off wearing earplugs
everywhere I went.
13Daughtry
Home

Easily one of the most overplayed songs of 2007 (& 2006). Daughtry
already would've been big with his "poppy" arena-rock style, but the fact
that he was an American Idol finalist launched him even further up the
charts. Despite his success, he is almost never, maybe even never, played
anymore on the radio.
14Stone Sour
Through Glass

I love Stone Sour, I love this song, but still it was an overplayed song for
awhile. While the mainstream may not like it that much anymore, it's still a
great song & hasn't gotten "old" to me yet.
15Paramore
That's What You Get

Another band I like; That's What You Get was made huge not only by more
mature pop radio stations, but even Disney Channel Radio & video
countdown. I still like the band & the song's ok, but it's one of my least
favorites by them.
