| Live In '10
The bands/shows I've seen in 2010 in order of how much they ruled. | 1 | | Brand New Daisy
Saw them with Kevin Devine (who ruled as well) and it was about as good as I
thought it would be. Opened with 'Vices' and closed with 'Play Crack The Sky',
also met KritikalMotion in the pit, which was pretty cool. | 2 | | Converge Axe To Fall
Saw them with Genghis Tron, and they DESTROYED. Played a good mix of
their stuff (nothing pre-JD aside from the closer) and even though they
closed with 'The Saddest Day' instead of 'Jane Doe' it was still kick ass.
Jacob Bannon is awesome also. | 3 | | Every Time I Die New Junk Aesthetic
With 50 Lions. Easily the most fun I've had at a gig. | 4 | | Glassjaw Worship And Tribute
At Soundwave. Played mostly stuff off Worship and Tribute and only one
song from EYEWTKAS, but it was still incredible. Crowd sucked ass though,
and seeing them at a festival wasn't ideal. | 5 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
With Maylene And The Sons of Disaster, had to get new glasses after this
gig because they got stomped on but it was worth it. Greg's biceps seem to
have gotten bigger since last time. | 6 | | Pixies Doolittle
Played all of Doolittle. Don't really think I need to explain this. | 7 | | Polar Bear Club Chasing Hamburg
With Break Even (who were really fucking tight). The nicest band I've ever
had the pleasure of seeing, shittons of energy. | 8 | | Chuck Ragan Feast Or Famine
The Revival Tour with Frank Turner, Ben Nichols and Tim Barry. Whole gig
had one of the best vibes I've experienced, would've been higher up if I
didn't have to leave early to catch the bus home. | 9 | | Girl Talk Feed The Animals
At Big Day Out 2010. Crowd was full of nerds (easily the worst festival crowd
in Australia, year in, year out) but Greg was just too good at getting people
hyped up. | 10 | | Gallows Grey Britain
Frank Carter is the maddest cunt in punk rock. Met ThePalaceOfWisdom just
before lolol. | 11 | | Sunny Day Real Estate Diary
So tight live. Was hot as hell though. | 12 | | Eleventh He Reaches London Hollow Be My Name
Twice, with Suffer both times. So much better live than on record. | 13 | | Raekwon Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt II
Did lots of Wu-stuff circa Enter The Wu-Tang which was baller. There were 2
fights during the gig and one huge fight outside afterwards, which kind of
ruined the experience. | 14 | | Rise Against The Sufferer And The Witness
Big Day Out 2010. Were good live though their setlist SUCKED, and again,
crowd blew. | 16 | | Mastodon Crack The Skye
Big Day Out 2010. Their beards are more impressive in real life. | 17 | | Architects Hollow Crown
REST OF THESE BANDS ARE RANDOM FESTIVAL BANDS. Soundwave 2010,
were actually decent. | 18 | | The Decemberists The Crane Wife
Big Day Out 2010. Were really nice late afternoon on a smaller stage. | 19 | | Reel Big Fish Turn The Radio Off
Soundwave. Was nostalgic as fuck for me, and they were legit entertaining. | 20 | | Jimmy Eat World Clarity
Soundwave. Only caught the last 5 songs of their set, but they were great. | 21 | | Paramore Riot!
Soundwave. Could barely hear anything over the number of 14 - 16 year
old girls SCREAMING. | 22 | | Muse Absolution
Big Day Out. Were actually alright until they started playing their Resistance
stuff. Crowd absolutely SUCKED though, couple started mackin' on each
other right in front of me. | 23 | | Powderfinger Vulture Street
Were decent but I mean, honestly, Powderfinger aren't the kind of band I'd
go out of my way to see. | 24 | | The Mars Volta Frances The Mute
Were actually really good, forgot about them though or else they would've
been higher. Played a sweet mix of older stuff and the new, and Cedric's
dancing is hilarious. | 27 | | Pantha Du Prince Black Noise | 29 | | Acid Tiger Acid Tiger | 30 | | The Tallest Man On Earth The Wild Hunt | |

06.13.10 | also saw Taking Back Sunday who I forgot about lol, they were great but Adam Lazarra kind of sucks live | Satellite
06.13.10 | List rules, except 16 sucks dick live. Frank Carter is fucking hilarious. 24 and 2 are among the top 10 or so bands I've ever seen.
Oh, might I add fuck you for 6. | Satellite
06.13.10 | I saw Chuck open for the Lawrence Arms a few years back. He killed it. Played his cover of Alk3's Bleeder omg. | Transient
06.13.10 | chuck ragan also played some hot water music stuff with ben nichols and frank turner
frank carter told us to go and boo escape the fate because 'they're fucking shit'
also frank turner playing love, ire and song and long live the queen = amaaaaazing | ZoidbergQuestion
06.13.10 | I thought 16 was great live. | vanderb0b
06.13.10 | Some awesome shows here. I'd love to see 2. | Tulannical
06.13.10 | these all look like they were a blast. 9 must've been sweet though, his live shows seem so fun. i don't get to many shows but hopefully i can go to a few this summer. who else are you gonna see? | Transient
06.13.10 | erm, the future's looking a bit bleak from here on out, had to miss break even/miles away and strung out/the loved ones (shattered about missing this one) because they were both on during exams ;_;. only other bands i might see in the near future are strike anywhere, carpathian and alexisonfire. stupid dangers/graf orlock tour skipped my state on their tour so i'm devastated atm :( | Athom
06.13.10 | this year hasn't been all that impressive for me live music-wise. I haven't had the monies to go buckwild like the last couple of years but I've still seen Defeater, Frank Turner, Ancestors, Minus the Bear, Touche Amore, The National, Jakob Dylan, Broken Social Scene, The Bronx, Saint Vitus, Los Campesinos! and Andrew Jackson Jihad. |
