| My 'perfect' Albums.
Although what is perfection, anyway? Sounds boring. This is just shit I've given the top marks to, and well deserved for all. If anyone was wondering; I'm 15. /boast | 1 | | Dinosaur Jr You're Living All Over Me
J. Mascis is a godly vocalist and guiatr player, the style shown on You're Living All Over Me is irresistable and makes it my favourite album of all time, sprinkle on some lovely noisiness and Dinosaur Jr. have made a masterpiece. | 2 | | Against Me! Reinventing Axl Rose
The music is brilliant, and Tom Gabel's vocals are as passionate as any other vocalist I've ever heard, lyrical genius only adds to the brilliance and this album would seriously be flawless if 'Walking Is Still Honest' didn't sound like the title track. | 3 | | Refused The Shape Of Punk To Come
A hardcore punk masterwork. Brilliant music with elements in dozens of genres from electro to jazz, and Dennis Lyxzen's scream; although samey to some, is just the best scream for me. | 4 | | Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Punk rock brilliance. For once, both the attitude, the message & the music are all of THE highest quality. Plus Jello has got to be one of the greatest frontmen of all time. | 5 | | Public Enemy It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us
Ah yes, some say 36 Chambers, some say Illmatic, but for me, it really has got to be Public Enemy's hip-hop masterpiece. It's just so unbelievably enjoyable. It's irresistable, unless you're really closed-minded towards hip-hop. | 6 | | Bad Brains Bad Brains
I guess it's coming off very clear that punk is my favourite genre, well, it is and so I apologize if the inclusion of so much punk bores you, but really; this is amazing. Bad Brains have had a very, very dodgy career, made only 4 good albums, and one of them is a complete masterpiece. Whether I'm rockin' out to the punk or chilling to the dub, Bad Brains' self-titled wins every time. | 7 | | Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Tender Prey
Some may find this an odd choice, but the variety and beauty on Tender Prey is too fantastic to turn down, there's the frantic intensity of songs like 'The Mercy Seat' and melancholic slow songs like 'Watching Alice'. His most rounded effort | 8 | | Radiohead OK Computer
Shoot me, I'm a mainstream prick. Honestly, do I even really need to say anything about this album? If you haven't heard of it, move out from that rock you've been under and listen to it. | 9 | | The Stooges Fun House
Fun House is hard-rocking and intensely brilliant, songs like 1970 start as a good rock and roll track and end as one of the most epic things you've heard. Best smoking album ever, maybe. | 10 | | Dinosaur Jr Bug
Dinosaur Jr. are my favourite band, and while this doesn't have as many brilliant qualities as You're Living All Over Me, every song is fantastic and there's a great variety around the album, ranging from a classic indie-rocker like 'Freak Scene' to a noisy, chaotic, ear-drum bursting bit of guitar-gasm known as 'Don't' | 11 | | David Bowie The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust...
Not every song is perfect but it is perfect as an album, Bowie is so fucking likeable that I give you a confused frown if you don't consider this one of the best albums ever made. | 12 | | Arcade Fire Funeral
Two days ago, this wouldn't be even dreamt of being among these album but, in those two days, its greatness hit me like a wet sponge. Dear god, I've been listening to almost nothing else since. Never thought an album could rise up my ranks as quickly has Funeral has. | 13 | | At The Drive-In Relationship Of Command
A hard, awesome, chaotic slice of genius, irresistable to the post-hardcore fan and even appealing to a casual rock fan. | 14 | | Saul Williams Saul Williams
The highlight of Saul's first two LP's is obviously Saul's lyrical genius, but in his second effort; the self-titled, the music is just as good as Saul himself, tracks like 'Grippo' and 'Telegram' are among the greatest of the hip-hop genre. | 15 | | Dinosaur Jr Dinosaur
A fairly personal choice I suppose, but I fucking love how loud, raw and passionate their debut is.
That's the end of the list then. | |
