Revisiting Times Before I Was Born...
Backwards journeys are good things to have for a budding musicians... as long as you don't end up becoming Wolfmother.
Before anyone notices 2 and 3 shouldn't be on here, I've pre-empted you. I just thought they deserved a mention. |
1 | | Frank Zappa The Best Of Frank Zappa
Just a great collection of songs. I haven't got any of his individual albums, but this really makes me want to. San Ber'dino, My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama... well, just about every song makes me incredibly happy to be alive for whatever reason :) |
2 | | Brand New The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me
Sowing Season made me regain faith in stuff my friends like. It's full of amazing lyrics, beautiful melodies etc. and I'm so glad that I didn't let the sometimes irritating harmonies of Deja Entendu get to my judgement - nearly all the flaws present on Deja Entendu have been fixed. |
3 | | Dream Theater Score
I'm a fanboy, and unashamed of it. |
4 | | Dio Holy Diver
Probably the best Dio album (solo at least), and a fantastic demonstration of the abilities of one of my favourite classic metal singers. |
5 | | U2 The Joshua Tree
U2's best, tbh. Much better than their lackluster 90's efforts. |
6 | | King Crimson In The Court Of The Crimson King
I don't need to explain this, do I? |
7 | | The Beatles Abbey Road
I wish I'd checked out the Beatles more seriously a bit earlier now... |
8 | | Metallica Ride The Lightning
...And Justice For All still blows this out of the water, but this is growing on me fast. |
9 | | Deep Purple Machine Head
Still not sure if I get the fuss, but Smoke on The Water has such a good solo. |
10 | | The Doors The Doors
Oh yes... Simply put, one of my all-time favourite albums. |
