User Spotlight: July 2020

Monthly spotlight of user efforts continues.
1My Morning Jacket
The Waterfall II

Sunnyvale - This user has only written 7 reviews since 2015, but he contributed two good reviews since my last list: Willie Nelson's "First Rose of Spring" and My Morning Jacket's "The Waterfall II". The neat thing about Sunny is his apparent willingness to cover important releases that otherwise would have fallen between the cracks. Staff/contribs can't cover everything, so it's appreciated. There's still room for improvement in terms of going into detail and refining prose/style, but that's a good thing. Hope you keep writing.
2Emmure
Hindsight

tyman128 - He doesn't cover quite as many high profile new releases (or maybe just not within my sphere of interest, in which case I retract that statement), but tyman writes consistently and writes well. He typically covers new-ish releases and they're decent enough to be featured half the time. Like Sunny I do believe there is still room for improvement, but the effort is consistently there with new releases. To boot, he's probably nicer than anyone else here.
3Japandroids
Massey Fucking Hall

notkanyewest - Quality over quantity. With two reviews to his/her/their name since 2015, they both came this year. The Japandroids review was particularly well done. I'd love to see more consistent writing from notkanyewest (is that like #nevertrump? would be interested in what inspired that username), but in the meanwhile I am always happy to see someone willing to be patient with their reviews and get them just right. Sometimes less is more.
