10.16.19 | Not trying to rub in the promo, just very excited to start the conversation about these tracks. The album has been wavering back and forth in my mind as to whether it's middle ground for the band or approaching top-tier; as it continues to grow I have to say it's closer to the latter right now. Not many frills here but the songs are just very well written and played. |

10.16.19 | Ok, if nobody's going to leak the damn thing, can you send me Criminal Energy just to tide me over for another day? Pretty please? |
Lucman
10.16.19 | If 555 is the weakest I think we can safely assume this isn't gonna disappoint. Been trying not to wear out the iTunes sample of it but it's such a tasteful pop song. Love it. |

10.16.19 | I didn't like it at first. It's grown on me a bit though. Prefer the live version. Still don't think I'll ever consider it a great Jimmy song but let's see. |

10.17.19 | bump now that we can actually discuss this
I already know that minty disagrees hard with 6 being so low |

10.17.19 | I haven't decided how I'd rank them yet. Album is so consistently great I'm having some trouble lol. I do know Diamond is in my top three. I think Delivery is my 1 too. Either that or All the Way. I know Recommit seems to be the early favourite, and I loooove the moments when the guitar chimes in, but the chorus doesn't quite move me the same way. |
SowingSeason
10.17.19 | Agreed. I love Recommit as well though, and its #6 placement on this list is not a criticism, it's just even higher praise for #1-5. |
minty901
10.17.19 | Yeah, I disagree with Recommit being so low. Also Criminal Energy. Weakest songs for me so far are easily 555, Love Never and Diamond. Diamond is fun for sure but I don't like the key change in the bridge, his voice goes so cheesily high. So Sowing and I are somewhat in agreement on which songs are towards the bottom of the table. |
SowingSeason
10.17.19 | 4-6 are in a similar tier for me, so feel free to assume that my preferences on any of those could shift up or down. I'm appreciating Recommit more now than I was when I made this list. |

10.17.19 | wait, Love Never isn't a new song? |
minty901
10.17.19 | The last 2 songs don't sound very much like Jimmy Eat World's usual style so I could see some people not warming to them straight away. Recommit has a bit of a prog aesthetic with all the modulation. I could imagine that song towards the end of The Dear Hunter's Act V alongside The Flame (Is Gone). Has a bit of a Steven Wilson vibe too. Congratulations is straight up prog rock. |

10.17.19 | @Atari Love Never came out near the beginning of 2018 in a two-song EP. It's been given a new mix for the album. |
Atari
10.17.19 | ahhhh I see. well I really love that track
not to be a broken record but that line "do you want the work more than the reward" is so simple yet effective. I think we're all guilty of thinking about the end result and not just having a good attitude about what it takes to get there |

10.18.19 | fuckinnnn alright I'm ready to do this
One Mil - 5/5 all time classic
Congratulations - it's Congratulations
Delivery - some of my favourite lyrics Jim has ever written, reminds me of Scott Pilgrim vs The World which is instant classic material
(theoretically half heart would be here)
Recommit - amazing chorus melody and that moody vibe is killer, would be at the top if it was longer
Surviving - love that they bucked the verse-chorus format for the opener, rules
Criminal Energy - Tom shoulda sung this but my god does it bang in the car
Diamond - cheesy as hell but so good and the verse lyrics are terrific
All the Way (Stay) - also cheesy as hell, only this low because the album is so goddamn stronk
555 - a massive outlier stylistically but outside of context it's a very good song, interested if they follow up on this style
Love Never - I like the idea but way too repetitive and simple melodically, needed more work |

10.18.19 | I think I'm confident with my rating this far. Things can definitely change though.
"Delivery" - This has remained my number one. The perfect, quintessential JEW song. Emotional and melodically stunning with some amazing lyrics. 5/5
"Congrats" - Holy moly this is a true epic. Third best closer behind 23 and Goodbye Sky Harbour 5/5
"All the Way (Stay)" - Power pop perfection 5/5
"Diamond" - Verses are pure pop/punk, chorus is glorious, and the bridge continues to wow me. Wish it didn't end so soon, though. 4.8/8
"Criminal Energy" - Best rock song since "Praise Chorus." 4.5/5
"Surviving" - Their most unique opener but gets the hype going like no other 4.5/5
"Recommit" - The biggest grower for me. Juuust outside of my top 5 now. 4.4/5
"Love Never" - Like Atari pointed out, I really love the lyric of the chorus. It's a simple but fun rocker and I live for it. - 4.3/5
"One Mil" - It's a tad goofy and might be the only one here I don't quite get the adoration for. Even so, completely unskippable 4.2/5
"555" - It has come up as the weakest, I'm afraid. I don't think it's all that out of place, really, and it comes right after "Delivery," after all. It's just a tad repetitive and doesn't really build to anything that's worth noting. Otherwise, it's a great night drive song, and I love when Jimmy pulls that off. 3.8/5 |

10.18.19 | Fuck, I need this now. Right now. |
Atari
10.18.19 | If Love Never is this low I’m convinced it will be a 5 |
Larkinhill
10.18.19 | Recommit is indeed too low. My second favorite here. But aside from that, my ranking is largely in line with yours, save for a few small differences. |

10.18.19 | Agreed with #1, Delivery sounds like a perfect JEW song. I would make a case for Congratulations as well. |
