Fall Out Boy Albums Ranked
1Fall Out Boy
Infinity on High

FOB at their catchiest and most well-produced. This album also falls in the sweet spot between emo pop-punk and straight up mainstream pop; this was right at that transition point. This isn't their most consistent album front to back, but no other album can keep up with this one's peaks. The band never made a "classic", but this is the closest they ever came. Best 3 Songs: (1) Bang the Doldrums, (2) This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race, (3) I’m Like a Lawyer
2Fall Out Boy
From Under the Cork Tree

The album that launched them to fame has its share of eye-roll moments (as do pretty much all their records if we're being honest), but it also has some of their most well-written tunes ever. Not as sleek sounding as Infinity, but arguably more consistent across the board. This could be number one on the list and I wouldn't blink, they're almost interchangeable in terms of overall quality. Best 3 Songs: (1) A Little Less Sixteen Candles, (2) I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea, (3) Get Busy Living, Or Get Busy Dying
3Fall Out Boy
Folie a Deux

Overlooked. On the heels of Infinity, few albums could live up to that level of insane catchiness and marketability, yet this comes close. Has a few skippable duds but mostly this is just FOB stretching the peak of their popularity for one more year. It's like Infinity-lite. Best 3 Songs: (1) Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes, (2) West Coast Smoker, (3) I Don't Care
4Fall Out Boy
Save Rock and Roll

Overhated. As their best post-hiatus album, many of these songs would have fit right in on Infinity or Folie. There's more filler than on any of the above albums too, which is why I suppose it is viewed as one of their worst albums. It's not though, if anything it fits snugly into the middle of their discography. Best 3 Songs: (1) Just One Yesterday, (2) The Phoenix, (3) Alone Together
5Fall Out Boy
Take This to Your Grave

Never understood the staunch loyalty that some fans have to this when the band clearly got better over time. This is a decent pop-punk/emo record that doesn't have all the glitz and glamor of their future efforts, so I guess that's the primary appeal. Record is pretty inconsistent, though. Best 3 Songs: (1) Grand Theft Autumn, (2) Saturday, (3) Dead on Arrival
6Fall Out Boy
American Beauty/American Psycho

This is one that gets a lot of hate, and it's actually sort of understandable. The melodies here aren't nearly as strong as they are elsewhere in the group's catalog, and Stump's voice is often grating. With that said, fans of sleek/glitzy pop FOB will still find plenty to enjoy here. Best 3 Songs: (1) Favorite Record, (2) Immortals, (3) Fourth of July
7Fall Out Boy

Ugh. Yeah, even I can't defend this. The electronic "experimentation" is unlistenable, and the production is downright terrible. If there are any memorable melodies here, they're obscured by insufferable studio effects. Not even Patrick Stump can save this dumpster fire. Best 3 Songs: None
