List is for the most part unordered. I know it's still early in the year so I'm sure there are some good albums coming out that have yet to be announced, but here's just a few of the gems we already know about that are coming out this year.
1Conducting from the Grave
When Legends Become Dust

CFTG is a band I've followed very closely since the release of their 2005 EP. After breaking up and taking a short break to revive fellow Sacramento band With Passion, the boys are back to finally release their debut. Death metal with tons of catchy melodic harmonized leads, necrophagist-esque sinister sounding shred pyrotechnics, and the rare breakdown thrown in once in a while for good measure. I can't really find anything not to get excited about
2Fleshgod Apocalypse
Oracles

I must admit the whole classical element of FGA is somewhat gimmicky, but it makes them really stand out at the same time. Plus it makes me respect them for the fact that their musical preferences run a little deeper than just the love of all things "br00t4l." A death metal band with some real taste? Imagine that.
3 Wintersun
Time

To call Time the Chinese Democracy of underground metal would be a bit of an exaggeration, but not completely overblown. Fans have been waiting around for a while for this one and judging from the info we do know on the album, it looks like it's going to be pretty epic.
4 Avenged Sevenfold
TBA

I'm sure I'll catch a bunch of flak for having this on my list but I don't really care. At this point it'll be hard for the boys in Avenged to not outdo their let down of a self-titled back in 2007. It's hard for me to not be excited for something they will produce, although I'm skeptical of the results.
5 Between the Buried and Me
TBA

This is another one we don't really know too much about yet, but I'm very doubtful anything BTBAM puts out will be bad. Lets just hope they can find a way to top Colors.
