DaveyBoy's Wedding Music

Yes people, you read that correctly. Everyones favorite staff reviewer (that is me for those keeping score) got hitched on the weekend. The knot has officially been tied. The months and weeks leading up to the big date were hectic, but all went well on the day and night. We are heading off to Tahiti for our honeymoon this Thursday, so you will not see me around Sputnik for two weeks as I will be lying on the sundeck of an overwater bungalow throwing down the cocktails. In the meantime, you all take care. Below are all the key songs that were played at our ceremony and reception:
1Johann Pachelbel
Canon in D

BRIDE ENTRANCE: Much better than 'Here Comes The Bride'. You may not know this piece of music by name, but I can assure you that you will have heard it.
2Celine Dion
Ave Maria

CERTIFICATE SIGNING #1: The better half wanted this song included somewhere and Celine Dion's version was probably the most accessible and surprisingly one of the best.
3Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli
The Prayer

CERTIFICATE SIGNING #2: I still cannot believe I listened to 2 Celine Dion songs in a row. Although, in all honesty, I was too busy signing my life away to listen.

POST-CEREMONY #1: "Together we're invincible" just seemed apt. Plus, there was no way I was gonna let my wedding go by without a guitar solo.
5Foo Fighters

POST-CEREMONY #2: "If everything could ever feel this real forever. If anything could ever be this good again". A genuine classic song that gets better with age.
Beautiful Day

POST-CEREMONY #3: This position depended on the weather. 'November Rain' by Guns N Roses was the alternate, but alas; the weather was perfect. Hardly a cloud in the sky, little wind, yet not scorching hot.
7Van Halen
Love Walks In

BRIDAL PARTY ENTRANCE AT RECEPTION: Nothing like some cheesy 80s keys and cock rock to kick off your night. Haha.
8Def Leppard
Pour Some Sugar On Me

CAKE CUTTING: Everyone knows the chances of my wedding going by without a Def Leppard song being played was about 100-1. We are still eating what's left of the yummy cake.

BRIDAL WALTZ: Awesome song that is often forgotten because 'Cities' is so deep with fantastic tracks. Going through all of Anberlin's LPs, I was surprised at how predominantly dark and negative their lyrics are.
10Elvis Presley
Unchained Melody

BRIDAL PARTY AND FAMILY WALTZ: Our DJ stuffed up here. He was supposed to play The Righteous Brothers version. The version from Elvis is a little all over the place and tough to dance to.
11Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes
Ive Had the Time of My Life

FAREWELL BRIDAL CIRCLE #1: I am not the hugest fan of the song, but it fitted in well for this spot. Plus we played the extended version with the long horn section solo.
Haight St.

FAREWELL BRIDAL CIRCLE #2: "Lets you and me make a night of it, Old enough to know but too young to care". One of my favorites, this is actually a pretty good party song.
13Green Day
Good Riddance

FAREWELL BRIDAL CIRCLE #3: This song is almost stock standard at the end of weddings now. How many people actually know the real title of this song.
14Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli
Time To Say Goodbye

FAREWELL BRIDAL CIRCLE #4: Obviously, it was time to say goodbye. I really do not like the start of this song, but the rest of it served its purpose.
