My 8 Of 2008

Looking back on my 2008 list, it got me thinking... what albums from that list do I actually listen to the majority of in June 2009. It seems I only listen to a few of the albums fully... these are the ones... I may not have checked out Watershed yet, but atm this is the 2008 list, 6 months later.
1The Butterfly Effect
Final Conversation of Kings

Although I've only managed to get my hands on this album today (Thanks to an Australian friend
sending it to
me after I've been waiting for it since December). I've been all over it since the morning, it still sounds
as
fresh, grand, epic & amazing as it was when I first heard it in I think September time, still a bloody
marvelous
album.
2Headless Heroes
The Silence Of Love

Another 2009 purchase, discovering this album was a very nice find. I've been using it to relax myself
or just
simply to listen to some folk induced cover songs. It's just a very nice album, but I love it so.
3R.E.M.
Accelerate

This one still hasn't lost favour with me, despite over listening to it. A few songs may have, but overall
the
album still holds itself up to me, & remains overall my fav R.E.M. album.
4 Guns N' Roses
Chinese Democracy

This album just speaks to me more on every listen. 3/4's of this is pure class & a joy to listen to plus
play on
Rock Band, the other 1/4 doesn't go into me, but still, better than what anyone says about it.
5Black Stone Cherry
Folklore and Superstition

I remember when I first bought this, I was so stoked because I thought it would be full of hard rocking
songs... it just fell flat on it's face. I ended up leaving it, not listening to it for 9 months until i got
tickets to
see BSC a few weeks ago, when I wanted to see if it was as bad as I claimed it to be. It was so much
better
the second time around, such a nice mix of emotional & soulful ballads with some hard rocking gems in
for
good measure, a brilliant album which doesn't quite reach their debut but it's getting closer
6Shinedown
The Sound Of Madness

I still remember being obsessed over this XD. A lot of it still goes into my ears with pleasure, however
like in
the last list, the single 2 just still ruin it for me, & at times now some of the songs are annoying to me.
But I
still like listening to it every now & again.
7Oasis
Dig Out Your Soul

Weird really, it's in my Top 4 of Oasis albums & yet only half of it comes to me as great... that's what
happens
when an awesome gig & whoring Morning Glory can do to their other stuff XD
8Protest The Hero
Fortress

Now here's an album I listen to rarely after I shifted away from Metal in late last year. About 5 songs
from
this are nice to hear every now & again, but I only hear these guys rarely on my shuffle so... yeah... until
their next album I don't see myself going mad over them. The quality OMG THIS IS AWESOME factor just
wears off... just like Crack The Skye this year XD
