Thrice albums ranked
Ranking the albums from my favorite band |
10 | | Thrice Identity Crisis
This one is bad. Such bad production breaks it for me.
No highlight here. |
9 | | Thrice Palms
Even though there are some great tracks here I feel this is where Thrice showcases their laziest songwriting to date. Repetitive choruses and simple structured songs make this a pretty OK record.
My highlight here is "Blood on Blood"; i just love the bass lines here. |
8 | | Thrice Major/Minor
The last album before they went into the hiatus. Some good songs, but overall I find the lyrics too preachy. This is sort of a worse-Beggars imo.
"Anthology" is the highlight here. |
7 | | Thrice The Illusion of Safety
This is a great post hardcore record with awesome guitar work but it never really clicked to me. And I don't really like how the drums sound here.
My highlight here is "To Awake and Avenge the Dead" |
6 | | Thrice The Artist in the Ambulance
This is where I first got to know Thrice, through "Stare at the Sun". TAITA is a really solid post hardcore album and IMO is more well rounded than TIOS.
My highlight here is the opener; it starts with so much energy and sets the mood really well. |
5 | | Thrice The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II
I was really in doubt about ranking this above or below TBEITBN, but ended up with below. Vol. I tracks are great, but I feel they're sort of standard Thrice. Love what they did on Vol. II though.
"Night Diving" is my highlght here. |
4 | | Thrice To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere
I was so hyped when I learned they were coming out of the hiatus and had pretty high hopes for this record and was no let down. There are a few weak links here, but most of the tracks are top notch.
"Hurricane" is my highlight here. And I just love the stripped down version Dustin and Teppei did on Walrus Audio channel in YouTube. |
3 | | Thrice Beggars
I love the raw production in this and the tracklist is just incredible.
I was really undecided about the highlight, but I'll go with "The Weight". |
2 | | Thrice The Alchemy Index Vols. III & IV
My favorite o The Alchemy Index volumes has to be Vol. III. The songs are great and I just love how they managed to translate the elements in the songs. Vol. IV is also great.
"Daedalus" has got to be the highlight here. |
1 | | Thrice Vheissu
I love all of the ideas they explore here. IMO it's a quantum leap in creativity and songwriting that elevated them to another level in the post hardcore genre.
"Of Dust and Nations" is my highlight here. |
