Title says all. Some recommendations would be great, but not too many, only 3 will do!
Brave Murder Day

Dark and brooding, this album surrounds you with despair. Epic.
Last Fair Deal Gone Down

More commercial sounding than BMD, but still with the same atmosphere. Some very good songwriting here.
Viva Emptiness

Another Katatonia album! theyre very addictive. This one hasn't come yet, but ive got high hopes.

Technical metal (like Cynic sometimes), mixed with some Jazz and general clean parts with female vocals over the top. Sexy!

Why hadnt i heard of this before? Theres things going on that ive never heard in metal before! brilliant musicianship with Jazz influence and both Harsh and clean "robotic vocals". Also inside: plenty of spacey atmosphere.
6Orphaned Land
Mabool (The Story of the Three Sons...)

Another album I should have heard about earlier. i cant believe what i was missing, Eastern atmospheres with heavy and progressive metal, with nice acoustic interludes to keep the flow. Perfect.

One hell of a Metal album, surely this can be loved by any fan of metal. Deathy, Thrashy, and brutally awesome.
8Arch Enemy
Rise of the Tyrant

Quite technical and heavy, a solid album from a band who dont seem to be getting any worse.
Scream Bloody Gore

Pretty good, especially if this is one of the founding albums of death metal.
10Edge of Sanity
When All Is Said

Death Metal with Progressive touches - The first disc is a great mix of heavy and melodic, while the second includes 2 40 minute songs... Theyre phenomenal! Dan Swano kicks major ass.

The 20 minute song "2112" is a great work of progressive rock, with some catchy riffs and a nice flow, propelled by the story.
Moving Pictures

I prefer this to 2112, as it includes more keyboards and lots of Progressive.
13Between the Buried and Me

Hell yes, one of the most captivating and interesting albums i have ever heard! Listened to it in full today, not once did i get bored. The flow is experty done.
