fireaboveicebelow 06.04.09	I was in a bit of a drought for a year, and first of all I listened to bat for lashes a lot coincidentally, then spent an unhealthy amount of time fiddling with music in my head until I came up with something I could use, as long as you're determined enough to want to do it, it'll come, just do not rush it at all. you could always try to write something every day, regardless if it's good or not, just so you get back into it little by little. another thing that may help is nostalgic scenery or perhaps unfamiliar scenery to gather new influences, so also try going somewhere emotionally charging, whether the place is real or not

MassiveAttack 06.04.09	Honestly I had this problem when I first started here. I had a huge drought than started pumping reviews day by day. If you must find a way I feel like you need to find any type of music that gets you energetic and wants to smash things. Something just brutal. Obviously doesn't have to be metal. Hell, if electronic or idm gets you excited (like me) than try to review the album you're listening too. Its really all about being comfortable with what you're writing at least that's what I've found to be true for me.
Knott- 06.04.09	i assume from your list desc youre not talking really about reviews. it helps to just write. i know how stupid that sounds but you need to sit down with 10 blank sheets of paper and scribble down every thought that passes every synapse. once you realise you haven't lost the ability it gets a hell of a lot easier. usually people who find they're unable to write are just self-blocking their own ideas which is obv a part of the creative process but you need to restrain your restraint, if that makes any sense. go back to writing 15 year old poetry for a little while if that's what it takes.

natey 06.04.09	are you talking musical writing or literary? i find that my music writing comes in phases. i'll randomly pump out an album in a month and then lose inspiration for three. as far as literary or musical go, i'd suggest taking a break from listening to a lot of music and maybe even from sputnik. i find when i take a break to focus on writing i'm at my computer desk and end up refreshing sputnik or something. don't let yourself go there. great fucking list by teh way
natey 06.04.09	yah "fuck the consequences" is good. no matter what you write you'll probably come out better in the long run just from the experience (nanowrimo ftw)

Waior 06.04.09	I have 13 weeks of Science to do by the 16th. If I do them, I get to stay in Canada with my friends a month longer. But instead of doing my chemistry, I refreshed Sputnik all day. Damn.
YouAreMySilence 06.04.09	I basically mess around on the piano, guitar, what have you and listen to alot of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Mono and eventually something sounds decent.

PuddleSwimmer 06.04.09	Same thing happened to me recently. For the past 2 weeks I've been trying to write a song and it couldn't come. Then, all of a sudden, last night I wrote 3 songs music and lyrics both I'm proud of. I kept the guitar in my hands all day and if I'm on the computer, I'd set my keyboard right next to me. Not everything you write has to be epic. If you want to write but currently have no motivation to write about anything spectacular, write about nonsense things for practice. I once wanted to write about a plane crash tragedy but I was stuck so I wrote about polar bears becoming extinct instead. Then, later that night I was able to easily blow through an emotional writing about the plane crash. It's really an everchanging task. Sometimes listening to the TV while writing prevents you from creating ideas, sometimes you'll find you need the TV, you know? Don't force yourself to write but at the same time, don't stop trying.
