2009, bitch.
1Dirty Projectors
Bitte Orca

So, this is srsly the coolest album ever, this year.
2Animal Collective
Merriweather Post Pavilion

OMGOMGOMGOMG HHHYYYPPPEE!! Fuck you, it rules.
3Grizzly Bear
Veckatimest

Meticulous craftsmanship and the sheer amount of talent pays off in full. How does one follow a break-out record? By trouncing it in every way possible. Cleaner, sweeter melodies, more powerful songwriting -- every note has it's place, they don't meander as they did so much on 'Yellow House' & 'Horn Of Plenty'. Just concise, gorgeous chamber pop.
4St. Vincent
Actor

Laughing with a mouth of blood from a little spill I took...
5 Yeah Yeah Yeahs
It's Blitz!

This shit is awesome.
6The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart

I dunno, iz so good.
7Camera Obscura
My Maudlin Career

Finally, they create full lush music, as opposed to just blatantly (amazingly) ripping Belle & Sebastian's early twee pop.
8Bat For Lashes
Two Suns

And with two suns spinning, At two different speeds.
9 The Juan Maclean
The Future Will Come

boss electro from(most of) the folks who brought you LCD Soundsystem.
10Asobi Seksu
Hush

Love so much that I can't survive.
11Various Artists

17Micachu

Curly Teeth
18 Handsome Furs
Face Control

The better Wolf Parade side project release a sophomore effort that stomps their debut. That's legal tender.
19Passion Pit
Manners

this is killer.
20 White Rabbits
It's Frightening

They're on auto pilot, with Britt Daniels behind the boards. It's still pretty good, but they've lost their sense of urgency.
21A Camp
Colonia

Nina ditches the Cardigans and her and Hubby try to create some grass roots, baroque pop(wtf?) and do a pretty good job.
22De La Soul
Are You In?

Yes, yes I am.
23Isis
Wavering Radiant

I just got this, but it's so good.
24Method Man and Redman
Blackout! 2

So you've totally heard this all before, but these dudes haven't lost a step really. This album is boss. Get it.
