1James Blake
James Blake

2010's best records were lengthy, overstuffed, and ambitious, so it's somewhat surprising that the opposite seems to be true for the most major albums of 2011, finding artists streamlining, minimalizing, and perfecting their approach. James Blake's self-titled debut is the best example of this, and with it, I discovered a new favorite artist. And, until I figure out the words meaningful enough to sum up this album's impact upon me, that's all I have to say on that.
2Burial
Street Halo

Did anyone even realize Burial released something for the first time in four years? Since 2007's AOTY? What the fuck?

Kaputt

I don't listen to this for weeks at a time and then I come back to it and it all hits at once. Production is just sublime.
6 Radiohead
King of Limbs

This is certainly a minor album for Radiohead, being their third straight that doesn't attempt to break any new ground or innovate or surprise. It's just Radiohead being Radiohead, and Radiohead's gotten really good at being themselves.

Can't fucking wait. Also excited for Goblin, the Antlers, The Carter IV, two new Boris albums that aren't that J-pop shit, The-Dream. I've have but haven't listened to Battles and Fleet Foxes yet, but anything else that's necessary to hear from '11 that I've missed, please recccccccc
