10.17.18 | Hell ya Balls. I've been eating less like a piece of shit and hitting the gym 3 days a week, trying to get a 4th in to the rotation. |

10.17.18 | i’m glad i’m still within the 300 range but I dip herenthere. not easy compared to the days we’d gloat about it more than now. |
DarkSideOfLucca
10.17.18 | I'm basically the same age as you. What is your diet, dude? I've been cutting down on sugar, but that's about it. Even that has made a huge improvement.
I go to the gym every day but I don't eat too well and I drinkly every night so I'm trying to change that a little. |
BallsToTheWall

10.17.18 | Hilariously enough, 15 pound dumbbell extensions murder my elbows but heavy pressing and weighted dips are fine. |

10.17.18 | My max varies a lot, as I struggle to stay consistent diet-wise. I ate clean af for a couple years and wasn’t making notable progress. So then spliced in lots of junk eating. Then I made fast progress for three or four months, then it eventually started to have the reverse effect. I’m just kinda stuck atm.
Anyways, my 1 rep max was 285 while weighing 210. Right now I’m 190 and haven’t tried s 1rm in a long time. But I only can do a few reps of 225 rn. Guessing my max is around 230-235. I had dropped all the way down to only two reps of 205 like a month and a half ago though. So I’m slowly gaining back some strength. |
DominionMM1
10.17.18 | it's called old man strength homie |
bloc
10.17.18 | Changed up my technique recently by narrowing my grip and it's helped prevent a lot of shoulder pain. It forces you to tuck your elbows more and thus brings more triceps in but that's a small price to pay. Did the same with my dumbbell chest movements as well. |
bloc
10.17.18 | As for good meals/snacks: oatmeal with natural pb and protein powder is #1 choice for me, tuna out of the can, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, turkey sausages once a week, avocados, etc |

10.17.18 | Sets I could go up to 308 to 330 lbs a year ago. Lost quite a bit of weight and now I keep my sets (8-10 reps) up to 286 lbs. |
BallsToTheWall
10.17.18 | Good shit. I’m at 179, trying to get to a final weight around 185. |
DominionMM1
10.17.18 | i’m actually scaling back on the weights and doing more running and swimming to cut weight. I’m shooting for a lean 170 or so. |
BallsToTheWall
10.17.18 | I despite running without a purpose. I need another sport if I’m gonna do that. |
DominionMM1
10.17.18 | i do hill sprints so there is sort of a purpose with each sprint |

10.17.18 | That’s better. Fuck jogging and treadmills. |
DominionMM1
10.17.18 | yeah i've never set foot on a treadmill because it looks awful to do |

the older buff guys at the gym seem to have it more together than when you start off as an idiot. experience is everything at the gym. |

10.17.18 | When you’re sick of tired of being sick and tired you gotta make the change. I feel more clarity in general by eating better. |

10.18.18 | my biggest hurdle has been and still is beer. i'd be ok if could drink lower calorie beers but i love my big brews. |

10.18.18 | try HIIT training, improves strength and cardio and torches fat |

10.18.18 | I already sweat like crazy doing my simple split routine. It is so fuckin puzzling to me when I see people lifting at the gym and there's not a drop of sweat on them. My face and back and chest are always drenched within 30 min. |
guitarded_chuck
10.18.18 | sweat with pride, if you arent sweating youre almost for sure not working hard enough |
guitarded_chuck
10.18.18 | idk what my bench is i dont really care about numbers and prefer dumbbells cause i think its better for stabilizers/core but its prob ~275
only use barbell for squats/deads |
DarkSideOfLucca
10.18.18 | "my biggest hurdle has been and still is beer."
Same, not drinking beer every night is a massive goal of mine aha - sort of cancels out going to the gym every day |
guitarded_chuck
10.18.18 | weed is a bodybuilders best friend, good for inflammation, gives you a ravenous appetite, helps you sleep after you do lines of pwo
keep the booze to like 3-4 drinks once a week as a reward for making another week your bitch |
BallsToTheWall
10.18.18 | Benching was always an exercise I felt inferior about. I had plataeaued for years so just the fact I feel good about Benching now is a moral boost. For everything. Then I throw reverse pyramid dumbbell inclines and dips and pushups. Today is leg day. |
DarkSideOfLucca
10.18.18 | Yeah, I used to smoke before workouts back in college but now in my older age weed makes me so fucking anxious in public places that it's not really an option anymore. Also, that whole anxiety thing makes it a terrible social drug for me - it's mostly just for watching movies/jamming music in my bed now lol
But yeah, I'll just cut out a few week days of drinking beer and start eating way less sugar. Hopefully that will do it. |
Calc
10.18.18 | 315 will be my max until I die, my shoulders are no longer suited for heavy benching. |

GhostB1rd
10.19.18 | I stopped benching after the weight stack I had access to felt like a feather at 205.
Now I just do 305 lb. total weight dips and heavy overhead dumbbell presses towards the back third of my workout. |

Yeah man I cut out most dairy 5 years ago or so. Mostly drinking milk and eating yogurt (I still have a bit of cheese every now and then). Done wonders for how good my stomach feels and I don't really feel bloated much anymore. |
