Aids' Vinyl Pt. 1 Of 2
I just catalogued my vinyl, so here's (the first part of) a list. Alphabetical
order cause that's the easiest, there are 118 in total if I counted correctly,
and this one cuts off right before The Mountain Goats :0 |
1 | | A Place To Bury Strangers A Place To Bury Strangers
180 gram pink/gold swirl |
2 | | Thee Silver Mount Zion He Has Left Us Alone...
"A Silver Mt. Zion - He Has Left Us Alone but Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the
Corner of our Rooms?" - sputnik's db is kinda weird |
3 | | Alexisonfire Dog's Blood
their last EP, green coloured vinyl, 1 of 700 limited edition, only available on tour
(other colours sold online and in stores) |
4 | | Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion |
5 | | Arcade Fire Funeral |
6 | | Autstrian Symphony Orchestra (Edward Kilenyi, pianist Chopin: Piano Concerto No. 1
(This is the best way I could think of to describe these classical records, which
were obviously written by someone else and have sometimes hundreds of different
releases by different orchestras and musicians.) |
7 | | The B-52s The B52's
gotta have it (also, good job sputnik database!) |
8 | | Bad Brains Bad Brains |
9 | | Beacon For Now
I have no recollection of buying this or seeing a band by that name. I'm guessing
they were an opener for a show I saw when I was really drunk/high and impulse
bought this EP? I don't know, it's pretty cool though. |
10 | | The Beatles Abbey Road |
11 | | The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band |
12 | | Bob Dylan Greatest Hits, Vol. 2
inherited from the parents |
13 | | Bon Iver Blood Bank
Purchased in Galway, Ireland when I saw them in 2009 |
14 | | Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon Iver
beautiful artwork, great to have it full-size |
15 | | Bon Iver Calgary
single, the b-side is a Bonnie Raitt cover (he's so 80s) called I Can't Make You Love
Me/Nick Of Time |
16 | | Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
Naturally, for the complete collection (and this is obviously Justin Vernon's best
record) |
17 | | Various Artists Box of Dub 2: Dubstep and Future Dub
http://www.discogs.com/Various-Box-Of-Dub-2/release/1108658 |
18 | | Brian Eno Ambient 1: Music For Airports
mint-condition 1978 pressing for $25, good snag |
19 | | Broken Bells Broken Bells
buy this, buy the vinyl, buy ten |
20 | | Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head
"you own a Coldplay record?" |
21 | | Coldplay Parachutes
"you own two Coldplay records?" |
22 | | Coldplay Viva La Vida
"you own three Coldplay records?" yeah, I do |
23 | | Dan Mangan Nice, Nice, Very Nice
the best |
24 | | Dan Mangan Oh Fortune
Signed by Dan Mangan |
25 | | Dan Mangan Radicals
7" single. A-side: We Want to Be Pleasantly Surprised, Not Expectedly Let Down.
B-Side: Stairway (Yukon Blonde cover) |
26 | | The Dave Brubeck Quartet Time Out
RIP you god damn genius. This is the only jazz record I consistently enjoy. |
27 | | Deerhunter Halcyon Digest
white vinyl, purchased after being won over by their mindblowing set at Sasquatch
2011 |
28 | | Defeater Empty Days and Sleepless Nights
I can't wait to be embarrassed that I own this... Not yet though!! |
29 | | Dharohar Project, Laura Marling, and Mumford & Sons
10 inch special collaboration for record store day 2010 (I think). I bought it cause
there was nothing else good at my local store and it seemed interesting. It is, by
the way. |
30 | | Eagles Hotel California
gotta have it |
31 | | Elliott Smith Either/Or |
32 | | Elliott Smith Figure 8
double 180 gram re-pressing (its first since 2000). It set me back a bit, but it was
definitely worth it. |
33 | | Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
double LP |
34 | | Elton John Madman Across the Water
inherited from the parents, terrible condition |
35 | | Fleet Foxes Fleet Foxes |
36 | | Glassjaw Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About
double translucent orange vinyl, purchased at the only Hot Topic I have ever been
to, somewhere near the border in northern Washington (ps this is the best Glassjaw
album get at me) |
37 | | Godspeed You! Black Emperor F#A#(Infinity) [Vinyl] |
38 | | Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas... |
39 | | Godspeed You! Black Emperor Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada
I still need the new oneeeeeeeeee |
40 | | Harlequin Victim Of A Song
It was free, is likely horrible, and I needed spare sleeves to protect the records
whose sleeves I have framed. This actual record is sitting in a bag somewhere
getting scratched to shit. Shouldn't even be included but it is cause lol. |
41 | | Hey Rosetta! Seeds
there was a time when sputnik would have eaten this sort of indie-rock shit right
up, this time has apparently gone. Wherefore art thou, Adam Knott? |
42 | | Hop Along Get Disowned
aoty 2012 |
43 | | How To Dress Well Total Loss
pink vinyl, signed by Tom Krell, bought when he played a show in my neighbourhood
which my friend and I tripped balls for (mdma). It was an unreal night, and I think I
nearly broke his hand when I shook it. |
44 | | In Medias Res It Was Warm and Sunny When We First Set Out
They put on a really, really, really good show (same venue as 43, very close to me)
so I impulse bought their record. It was a mistake cause the album turned out to
be just ok. Not bad, but not worth spending $20 on. They were local though and
still hadn't sold off their first issues though and were therefore completely enslaved
by their label, so I kinda felt bad. I'll sell it used for like $8-10 probably. |
45 | | Jaga Jazzist One-Armed Bandit
Signed by 3/9ths of the band after one of the most mind-blowing live shows of my
life. That drummer is my fuckin nigga. I took this video of "Vancouver" Skyline if
you care: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6TsttgDOZ8 |
46 | | James Last This Is James Last
see #40 |
47 | | Japandroids No Singles |
48 | | Japandroids Post-Nothing |
49 | | Japandroids Younger Us
7" clear vinyl, b-side: Sex and Dying in High Society (cover) |
50 | | Jawbox For Your Own Special Sweetheart |
51 | | Jeff Beck Blow by Blow |
52 | | Jim Nabors Jim Nabors Sings The Lord?s Prayer and Other Assorted Songs
see #40 http://www.discogs.com/Jim-Nabors-Jim-Nabors-Sings-The-Lords-Prayer-
And-Other-Sacred-Songs/release/1760801 huge lols |
53 | | The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold As Love
180 gram re-issue, sounds AMAZING |
54 | | Jimi Hendrix Smash Hits
I won this at some music trivia thing in first year. University students don't know
shit about music that isn't country. |
55 | | John Lennon Singles Bag
3 7" singles that were released for record store day a few years back. I bought it
for my dad but stole it back when he never played them. |
56 | | John Lennon Unfinished Music No1: Two Virgins
absolutely awful, but this is a #rare and #controversial record so my dad bought it
for me when we spotted it in a NYC record store years ago |
57 | | John Mayer Continuum
MOVING ON |
58 | | Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
triple album with all sorts of alternate artwork |
59 | | King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
If you have a record collection without this album then you have failed at life and
should probably just swallow some knives. |
60 | | King Crimson Red
see above |
61 | | Kishi Bashi 151a
white vinyl, bought at the most insane show I've ever seen (same venue as the
other ones, huzzah!) and I was sober and by myself. This guy is a god damn
genius and he tears the house down live. Do not miss if he plays near you. |
62 | | La Dispute Somewhere at the Bottom of the River...
double album, first record is white, second record has a cool etching on the d-side |
63 | | Laura Stevenson Sit Resist
white vinyl, signed by Laura thanks to Josh - an absolute hero |
64 | | The Los Angeles Philharmonic (Zubin Mehta) Stravinsky: Le Sacre Du Printemps
essential piece of classical music |
65 | | Low C'Mon |
66 | | Manchester Orchestra Simple Math |
67 | | Mastodon Crack The Skye
red/gold swirl |
68 | | Menomena Friend and Foe
the front cover has the coolest rotating artwork that changes the mouths on the
cover and rotates through the track names |
69 | | Metric Fantasies |
70 | | Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells
aka "BRO that's the music from that old-ass scary movie!!!" |
71 | | Mono Hymn To The Immortal Wind
fuck off new album, you suck so much dilch |
72 | | Mother Mother O My Heart
It's been all downhill since this album got them "discovered", but nostalgia will
always keep me clinging to this as one of my favourite records produced by a local
band. |
