Favorites

My favorite albums in no particular order.
1Elliott Smith
XO

I know I said that there was no order to this thing, but this is probably my favorite album of all time. Either/Or and his s/t come close, but I personally don't think that they can match this.
2Neutral Milk Hotel
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

I probably shouldn't have to say anything about this one.
3Wilco
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

One of Wilco's best. Also, I Am Trying To Break Your Heart is a really good documentary if you haven't seen it.
4Wilco
Being There

Wilco's other best. This (kind of) simplistic roots rock record is really different from YHF, but is still equally as good.
5Uncle Tupelo
Anodyne

My favorite alt-country album. It's really interesting to compare Tweedy's songs here with his later stuff with Wilco.
6Bruce Springsteen
Born To Run

One of the best rock albums ever, every song here is simply wonderful (I even love Meeting Across The River).
7The Beach Boys
Pet Sounds

Brian Wilson is a genius. Also the vocals are incredible.
8The Beatles
Abbey Road

Not as long and drawn out as the White Album, not too short like Revolver, and not boring like Let It Be, Abbey Road is just fantastic.
9Bob Dylan
Highway 61 Revisited

Dylan's best album. Blood On The Tracks comes very close, but no cigar.
10 The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Their Satanic Majesties Second Request

Such a great psychedelic album
11At The Drive-in
Relationship Of Command

This got me into post-hardcore. Just awesome, energetic and passionate songs all the way through.
12Charles Mingus
The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady

This is wonderful. I almost find it impossible to JUST listen to one song, I usually end up putting on the whole thing.
13Wu-Tang Clan
Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

Cash rules everything around me
14Arvo Part
Tabula Rasa

I used to always listen to this while doing assignments. Only problem is, it's so intense that I soon forgot about anything else that I was doing.
15Townes Van Zandt
The Late Great Townes Van Zandt

This guy needs more love on this site. A wonderful folk/country hybrid with a bit of blues tossed into the mix.
16maudlin of the Well
Bath

It's been a while since I've listened to this, but it's still amazing.
17Kayo Dot
Choirs Of The Eye

It's a mystery to me how an album such as this can be so good. It just works somehow.
18 Oasis
(What's The Story) Morning Glory

Such a great rock album, Some Might Say remains one of my favorite songs ever.
19Neil Young
Tonight's The Night

Really dark, and really awesome.
20Radiohead
OK Computer

KID A is great as well, but I think this comes out on top.
