What Itunes Says I'm All About Lately

My ITunes got reset when I got my new Mac so these are the albums that are dominating my top play counts.
1The Who
Quadrophenia

Just an absolutely incredible piece of art. Sure Who's Next is a classic and mostly everything these guys
made could put up a decent argument for the same title as classics, but this is just the Who at their best.
2The Beatles
The Beatles

Took me a while to see the complete genius this album possessed, at least in comparison to Abbey Road
and anything from Rubber Soul and on which took no time. Another double album that is just an essential
to a true music fans collection.
3Pelican
Ephemeral EP

Got this when I caught them with ISIS about a month back - for those who gave up on Pelican with City
Of Echoes or those who have a hard time digesting a full Pelican album I urge you to give this a shot. I've
been a fan since before the release of The Fire In Our Throat... and this to me is putting up a legitimate
fight for my favorite thing these guys have released.
4U2
War

This was on the last list I made too and it really just hasn't left my rotation at all since. While the Joshua
Tree is a force to be reckoned with (as it should be), this for me ranks at just about the same level if not
coming just a bit shorter. Also No Line could have very easily occupied this place.
5Bruce Springsteen
Working On A Dream

Honestly this doesn't have as high of play counts as other Boss material on my ITunes - but I've been
listening to it in preparation for the second Springsteen concert I will see this year. Not my favorite
Springsteen but I think I seem to like it more than the normal Sputnik Bruce fan.
6Wilco
Wilco (The Album)

Kinda checked this out randomly. Had heard good things but never knew what they played or anything
more than what I've stated, but so far this has definitely been worth it. While this doesn't seem to be
groundbreaking or anything it certainly doesn't take away from the fact that it's really good.
7Poison The Well
The Tropic Rot

Versions was disappointing to me but only in the sense that You Come Before You was such a huge album
to me at the time - but this seems as a definite step in the right direction. Additionally Versions grew on
me quite a bit and I do enjoy it a lot.
8Willie Nelson
Red Headed Stranger

Since I'm going to see Bob Dylan in a little less than two weeks (with Nelson and Mellencamp) I thought I
would get a good taste of what Willie is all about. This is a really cool album although I am still way more
excited for Bob Dylan himself.
9Darkest Hour
The Eternal Return

At first I was scared when Kris left, than I was scared because a lot of the melody that made me appreciate
these guys so much had seemed to go with him (from the initial tracks they released) - but I'll be damned
if at this point those things didn't matter because this is just awesome.
10The Mars Volta
Octahedron

The Mars Volta really have never disappointed me from day one. While some people dislike Amputechture
and Bedlam I have always seen them as a band who write music for their own entertainment, bringing
theirs fans along for the ride. And although as I said they have never disappointed me this to me has
certainly taken a step into a better direction than the former two.
