Norwegian Recommendations

Three excellent Norwegian rock bands that deserve your attention (sorry for weak English)
1Motorpsycho

Defined as psychedelic rock, but they also mix in elements from metal, jazz, rock, pop and a lot more. They have released various of real quality albums, including songs of epic greatness (The Golden Core, Vortex Surfer). At their best, they could easily match every international act of the same genre. Their music is very, very uniq, having created a sound of their own. With pop tracks at 2.30 to post-rock like tracks that builds over 15 minutes and into explosions of emotions, their music can be described as very creative and variated.
2Seigmen

Starting out as a really aggresive hard rock act, they discovered the sound of Tool. Only months later they found themselve working with one of Tool's old producers. Their music was taken to another level of quality, and so was their live performances. They started to include lots of lights and videos on huge screens on the stage. In their latest album they moved towards a soundscape clearly inspired by deepeche mode at their darkest and nine inch nails. Even though their influences are clear, they have produced something very uniq during the years of Seigmen. It all came to an end in 1999, but in Norwegian music history they will forever be remembered.
3Madrugada

Brilliant, dark, but yet catchy, creative and accsessible in every way. The music is very Nick Cave inspired at times, with Sivert Hoyems deep baratone lead vocal, but as the other bands Madrugada have created their own sound. The music is very melody driven, and colored with emotions throughout. Madrugada came to an end after a final tour following Robert Buraas' (guitar) death in 2007.
