04.05.07 | Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is awesome, one of the only books that's made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions. I'm reading the Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie, and he's soooo good. I read a lot too. I'm a closet book nerd | trustxdialect
04.05.07 | Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is sooo good. I recommend anything on this list, really, unless you're adverse to gay themes (I Am Not Myself...) or morally corrupt assholes (I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell). Battle Royale I definitely recommend. It's a big read but fantastic and very well written. It's like Lord of the Flies if the plane crashing was on purpose and they were all given weapons, but of course better, and it was originally Japanese so it's off the wall. Slow Man is really rich in dialect and he gets cocky with his detail and how the plot works out and doesn't explain much of what's going on as much as he shows how the characters react, but it's still smart, and that's something.
Closet book nerds ahoy. | steadyeddie
04.05.07 | bein a book nerd is where its at haha. thanks for the recommendations, as long as its a good read, i'll give it a shot. i'm gonna look for Battle Royale, it sounds tight. and i have Coetze's 'Disgrace', but I have yet to pick it up, its been collecting dust. I'll check it out soon. the last book i read, before satanic verses was 'Kafka on the Shore', by Haruki Murakami. it's pretty strange, but I got hooked on it, and finished it in 2 days. maybe you'd like it? | trustxdialect

04.05.07 | J.M.Coetzee is good ... if you're in search of real current societal themes may I suggest Orhan Pamuk .... his books are brilliant. GOing through one right now :) | Two-Headed Boy
