August and Not A Lot After

List is albums I'm either excited for or morbidly curious about here in the back-half of the month.
1Between the Buried and Me
Colors II

Is it a cashgrab and/or sign of creative exhaustion? I mean, good chance, yeah. Am I still gonna listen to this thing twenty times? Almost certainly.
2Big Red Machine
Big Red Machine

How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last? Too lazy to upload this into the database, especially with all those guest features and such, but looking forward to another dose of glitchy folk brood-fest right on the cusp of Autumn.
3Chvrches
Screen Violence
4Deafheaven
Infinite Granite

Wasn't really over the moon with the first two singles, and not even due to them fully eschewing any pretense of black metal (which seems like more trouble than it's worth for them at this point), but they just felt kinda boring. Then along comes "In Blur," a gotdamned bonafide earworm, so here's fickle me, cautiously curious for the album as a whole again.
5The Killers
Pressure Machine

After a shocking return to form in Imploding the Mirage, the band I'd written off after running out of breath defending Day & Age only to be backstabbed by Battle Born is suddenly one of my most hotly anticipated records of the year.
6Leprous
Aphelion
7Quicksand
Distant Populations

Glad to see these guy back so soon, was worried we might have to wait another decade. Not that it wouldn't be worth it.
8Sturgill Simpson
The Ballad of Dood and Juanita

Fun fact: I recently learned Dwayne The Rock Johnson is a fan of Sturgill, and while that's something the man himself probably wouldn't care too deeply about, it made me smile.
9Trash Boat
Don't You Feel Amazing?

Still kinda shocked by the wild stylistic swerve this band took, and while I'm not sure I'm fully aboard *this* particular boat (eh, eh? See what I did?), I'm still gonna be giving this bad boy a few listens.
