| Concerts I'm Attending Soon
Title pretty much says it all | 1 | | mewithoutYou Pale Horses
Playing the Black Cat in D.C. Still pretty bummed that I missed their 10-year anniversary tour for Catch for Us the Foxes when it came by my neck of the woods, but I'll content myself with a few deep cuts, especially amidst newer material as solid as what Pale Horses and Ten Stories had to offer. | 2 | | The Menzingers Rented World
Co-headlining with mwY. I actually saw these guys with letlive. and Taking Back Sunday not too long ago. A few strange bedfellows on the bill, there, but I wasn't surprised in the slightest that both openers definitely stole that show. Also, not for nothing, but Adam Lazzara looks a little worse for wear. | 3 | | Pianos Become the Teeth Keep You
Opening for the above pair. I got extremely excited when I actually heard one of these guys' new songs on the radio the other day. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have been surprised, given A) the new, softer sound and B) the fact that it was a local college station, but still. Cool. And I've yet to see them put on anything less than an absolutely flooring show. | 4 | | Restorations LP3
Also opening. This band deserves a lot more attention on this site. Also, I guess, outside of this site. | 5 | | Alcest Shelter
Playing the Metro Gallery in Baltimore. Pretty excited for this one, but also nervous, as I've convinced my girlfriend to go based largely on the fact that she likes this album. As for the earlier material, well...we'll cross that bridge when we get to it, I suppose. And I might be walking home across it alone that night. | 6 | | Emma Ruth Rundle Some Heavy Ocean
Opening for Alcest. I've seen Marriages live before, which was damn good, so I'm confident she'll hold her own. | 8 | | Circa Survive Juturna
Playing Ram's Head Live in Baltimore. I was actually a bit disappointed when I saw Circa a few years ago. Not a lot of energy, but I think it was deep in the back-half of their tour for Violent Waves, so I'm just (tentatively) chalking it up to poor timing and less-than-top-shelf material. Hopefully, the combo of Juturna and the stellar Decensus will make for a much more vitalized show. | 9 | | Citizen Everybody Is Going to Heaven
Opening for Circa. Their latest was something of a step down, in my opinion, but I've had albums grow on me before after seeing them in a live context (see: #2). Plus, their first is still one of my go-tos, which must count for something. | 10 | | Rx Bandits Gemini, Her Majesty
Also opening. Never really got into these guys, to be honest. Ska/prog sounds...interesting, though. And if it means overweight dudes in Rush shirts skanking, well, then, that might be entertaining enough in its own right... | 11 | | We Were Promised Jetpacks Unravelling
Another Metro Gallery show. Actually sort of a bargaining chip tying back into #5, with the all-important caveat that I actually legitimately enjoy WWPJ, so I definitely cheated during the negotiation procedures. But she doesn't read Sputnik, so shhhhhh! What *is* weird is, there aren't any openers listed. Could be because it's still about a full month off, and Metro seems to like to pull from the local pool quite a bit, but we shall see. Even if it's just them, should be a fun night of some Scottish mope-rock. And I do mean that endearingly. | |

10.09.15 | Also, a group called Mother Moon is on the bill with Alcest. Local act, and I like what I've heard online. You can check them out here, if ye be so inclined: https://mothermoonmd.bandcamp.com/album/nourishing-the-repetition-2 | DinosaurJones
10.09.15 | Nice, I'm going to see Circa Survive/Citizen/Rx Bandits when they swing through Philly. I'm mostly excited to see the Bandits, haha. One of my favorite bands. I've never heard of Citizen, actually, I'll have to check them out. | thecheatisnotdead
10.09.15 | Bandits definitely have me intrigued. I might dig into some of their stuff beforehand. And yeah, Citizen I highly recommend if you're into the emo revival/melodic hardcore/whatever-the-correct-label-is-I-don't-even-know-anymore scene at all. | theBoneyKing
10.09.15 | 11 put on a pretty good show. When I saw them last year, it took them a few songs to get into a groove and after that it was great. Very loud, though. | LotusFlower
10.09.15 | If you're looking into Bandit's discog, start with ...And the Battle Begun. It's their best album. | DinosaurJones
10.09.15 | [2] | torts
10.09.15 | seeing the front bottoms with Elvis depressidly on the 1st, gonna be lit AF lol

10.09.15 | Also, I'm going to see Coheed, Glassjaw, and Thank You Scientist on Sunday.
SO PUMPED. | thecheatisnotdead
10.09.15 | Thanks to all for the RX pointers. And damn, Dino. That sounds like a fantastic show. Where is it? | DinosaurJones
10.09.15 | the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. | dbizzles
10.09.15 | I thought the new WWPJ was bland as all hell, but if they came through town, it would be hard for me to resist seeing them. Got to see mwy earlier this year and they were again fantastic. I was hoping to catch this run with Circa Survive, but can't make it. They have eluded me many times. | thecheatisnotdead
10.09.15 | Good to hear, mwY-wise. I've seen them a few times, always opening, so I'm excited for a full-blown set. And yeah, I hold out hope I just caught Circa on an off-night. | ScuroFantasma
10.10.15 | cool man have fun, going to see Thy Art is Murder in a week, pumped |
