Albums I'm Excited For

Pretty self-explanatory. Some of these are out already, I just haven't gotten around to snagging them.

Pale Horses

Preordered the double rainbow vinyl version of this bad boy. The waiting is the hardest part. Yes, I know it's streaming.
2Kamasi Washington
The Epic

Oooooooo, that jazz!

3Rosetta
Quintessential Ephemera

I've liked every new song they've posted more than the last. Plus, "the album is the most guitar-centric and counterpoint-driven thing we’ve ever done. It seems like there are vocals all over the place, yet three of the nine tracks are instrumental." - Matt Weed. So, y'know, stoked.
4Active Child
Mercy

Wasn't as sold on the Rapor EP as I was the terrific You Are All I See, but I have hopes of this release getting things back up to par. Which, for the record, is well above par.
5Counterparts
Tragedy Will Find Us

The album art leaves a little to be desired (::prays people overlook easy #3 cross-reference::), very metalcore circa 2005. But these kids have yet to disappoint, musically.
6Between the Buried and Me
Coma Ecliptic

Not sure whether Sputnik's prevailing opinion on this band is hewing towards good or bad these days, since it seems to have all the consistency of a windsock, but whichever way that pendulum's swinging, I'm still pretty firmly in their camp and pumped for this.
7Sun Kil Moon
Universal Themes

The more news that comes out about Kozelek, the more reprehensible I find him as a human being, but dammit if I'm not still a sucker for his music. Hopefully, come 2016, his fellow-musician-baiting and misogyny are all revealed to be some elaborate, Joaquin Phoenix-esque performance piece. Or at least he'll lighten up and try to play it off that way.
8Rolo Tomassi
Grievances

Such a beautifully weird bunch of musicians.
9 Being As an Ocean
Being As an Ocean

Actually just started getting into this band--just in the nick of time!
10Attalus
Into the Sea

Ordered this pretty impulsively after hearing only one song. Based on the reviews it's getting, however, I'm pretty optimistic about that whim. "The Dear Hunter + La Dispute"? Shut up and take my schmeckles.
11Nate Ruess
Grand Romantic

I actually don't think I've heard a single song from this yet, so I'm mainly intrigued by whether it's going to traffic in Format-esque troubadour-ism, fun.-informed bombast, or something new altogether. Based on the title, though, I think I have an early guess...
12Paradise Lost
The Plague Within

Based off of early chatter, this continues Paradise Lost's mid-2000s-on heavy resurgence--which, by my count, is up to five albums by now. That's more than a lot of bands' entire careers, and especially once you consider that this is their 14th(!) overall, well, that's pretty goddanged remarkable.
