Time For A New Laptop

So it's probably a bad sign when you try to open your laptop anything beyond a 30-degree angle, the screen does an impression of the inside of a cloud, right? Oh well, long time coming, I suppose. List be digs.
1La Dispute
Rooms of the House

So glad this overcame the pre-release jitters everybody (myself included) seemed
to have.
2Nothing
Guilty of Everything

I actually found this on sale in the music department (read: single aisle, and
subtracting every day) of Best Buy. I guess one plus side of them just really not
caring about that side of their business anymore is that things like this can get
featured. They even mentioned Behemoth's new album in one of their newspaper
circulars--which, great.
3Animals as Leaders
The Joy of Motion

Loves me some instru-metal.
4Morrissey
You Are the Quarry

"You have never been in love until you've seen the sunlight thrown over smashed
human bone..."
5Closure in Moscow
First Temple

Well, I for one am still fairly excited for Pink Lemonade, questionable title
notwithstanding. And anyway, five years isn't *that* long for a follow-up, if you're
measuring by Tool standards.
6Of Machines
As if Everything Was Held in Place

And I'm still, somehow, holding out hope for these guys' return as well, even after
some less-than-impressive teasers.
7Wilderness
Wilderness

Dem vocals.
8Foster the People
Torches

This is probably a shallow thing to admit to, but I bought this album when it was
first released, listened to it maybe twice, and then didn't really think about it. I
recently dusted it off when I heard they were doing a follow-up, realized I knew
pretty much every song through either radio overplaying or use in commercials, and
have been jamming it pretty steadily ever since. Plus, shamelessly derivative as it
is, "Helena Beat" is still the best MGMT song they never wrote.
9Daisyhead/Have Mercy
Split

Have Mercy is strangely overlooked on this site, although the band page that
comes up when you search them is hilarious. And "Wonder" is Daisyhead's best yet.
10Johann Johannsson
IBM 1401, A User's Manual

A lot more moving than I thought it would be, and given that my first exposure to
Johannsson was "Sun's Gone Dim...," that's saying something. Looking forward to
spelunking deeper into his discography. Especially Fordlandia.
