Albums And Feats Of 09

Bands I am looking forward to hearing new material from and others I can't wait to see live in 2009.
1In Fear and Faith

New record drops the first week of the new year. The stuff I've heard sounds incredible so far and their new singer is great.
2All Time Low

They went from the back pocket believers who only sold out their hometown to AP's band of the year. They were quoted saying they were just looking forward to making a great record as opposed to a great pop-punk record so I'm assuming this will be incredible.
3Greenday

Never really been crazy about these guys but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious as to what this is going to sound like.
4Brand New

I mean do we really need a reason here?
5Thursday

See above. On a side note I can't wait to see them headline in a club for the first time.
6Killswitch Engage

A little change could go a long way, I hope they make it happen.
7Silverstein

Shane was quoted saying that this will be one of their heaviest records. Hopefully it's more consistent than their last outing because if not I'm pretty much giving up on their future.
8Chiodos

Bone Palace was incredible and I can't wait to see what these guys think of next.
9Mayday Parade

Their A Lesson in Romantics was hands down the best release of 2007 I discovered this year. I honestly am dumbfounded every time someone calls these guys generic pop-punk. I just don't see bands pulling off the harmonies and dual vocal patterns they do with the guitar work and key changes so please tell me if I am not looking hard enough.
10A Day To Remember

The poppiest stuff they've written and the heaviest stuff they've written will be on their new disc. I'm on board.
11Boys Like Girls

I hate myself... if this sucks I'll feel better.
12Paramore

Group is so talented. Pick up their live DVD and tell me otherwise. This WILL rule.
13Amber Pacific

One of the first pop-punk bands I started liking. Some of their tunes have huge personal ties to me so of course I was pretty bummed when Matt left. Hope their new vocalist is exceptional otherwise this group is just plain done.
14Funeral For A Friend*

Seeing them headline (finally) in January before I go back for Spring semester. The last time they headlined the US was in the fall of 05. They canceled because their drummer threw his back out. This had damn well be worth the wait.
15Metallica*

Once again seeing them live. I could write about three paragraphs as to how excited I am but to save you all some trouble I'll keep it short: this ought to be one of the best nights of my life.
Happy Holidays sputnik!
