It's more than that. Kobe was one of the best players in basketball history, at least top 10 ever to play the game. Tragically died in a helicopter crash at 41. I feel like this doesn't need much explanation. I dunno how to compare it to anything that Eurotrash would identify with; maybe if Ronaldinho died in a helicopter crash. |
Keyblade
01.26.20 | yea like if zidane and his son died in a crash |

01.26.20 | I figured it out tyler
He played his entire, 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won five championships with the team and was named an All-Star on 18 occasions. He retired in 2016 as the NBA’s third-highest all-time scorer. He also won gold medals with Team USA at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
"For 20 seasons, Kobe showed us what is possible when remarkable talent blends with an absolute devotion to winning. He was one of the most extraordinary players in the history of our game with accomplishments that are legendary: five NBA championships, an NBA MVP award, 18 NBA All-Star selections, and two Olympic gold medals." |
Valkoor952
01.26.20 | I mean hard RIP to the man and his daughter and all my respect, I recognize his talent and achievements.

01.27.20 | I did a double take when I saw the article title on Reddit. "There's no way I read that name right." A helicopter crash, and his kid died too? Jesus that's rough. I don't even watch basketball, but I've seen this guy's influence on the people around me since I was a kid. One of those larger than life superstars. This is some really sad shit. |

01.27.20 | Easily one of the top 7 basketball players to ever live. 2nd most swagger, after Jordan. They guy had balls the size of a galaxy. I lived in LA for a couple of years,it was actually during the time when he was in trouble and also feuding with Shaq, but I can tell you that is is a absolute GOD there. In a town bursting with celebs, Kobe was worshipped the most. Was shocked and sad to hear the first news that he passed, which gave way to devastation when I found about out the kids on board.
Hard fucking RIP. |

01.27.20 | RIP to Kobe aka The Black Mamba!
He played the game his way and was the closest to Jordan that this generation will ever see. Unparalleled work ethic and dedication. That legendary 81 point game !! Kobe was loved across the world, especially Europe. |
manosg
01.27.20 | I'm in a state of shock and disbelief, since I learned the news. It's not that Kobe played and brought so much success to the team that I support; It's the fact that back in 1996 and to my 13 year old self who was going almost everywhere with a basketball in his hands, Kobe was an inspiration. If he can make it, I can make too. Bought his shoes, hang his posters in my room, copied his moves. Growing up, I admired his hard-working, refuse-to-lose, no-shit attitude. When he retired from basketball, he was again an inspiration for all of his activities. Today a part of my childhood just disappeared, and to learn that young kids also lost their lives in the accident is heartbreaking.
RIP |

hey, fellow eurotrash here. this doesn't have to do anything with you being eurotrash, it's just that you're not a fan of basketball. because if you were, it wouldn't matter where are you from, you'd be sad af rn because you'd know how special Kobe was |
