1 | | La Roux La Roux
Another redhead that has released a debut this year. La Roux releases a rather synth laden tracks, which adds to the dancey nature of La Roux's vocals. Some songs are a bit inspid which is the only detraction from a rather solid debut. |
2 | | Brand New Daisy
Oi! Thats my dogs name! My first taste of Brand New and sure was a good one. I always was waiting for them to explode into a cacophony of sound but they held it back. Add to this intelligent lyrics like 'You tried to put the fire out but you used gasoline', it makes a very fulfilling album. Will check out The Devil and God.... next |
3 | | Silversun Pickups Swoon
Just like Brand New this is my first taste into Silversun Pickups. This is an album where I bought it a bit too late into the year to fully recognise how great it really is. 'It's nice to know you work alone' should have been at the end of season 3 of Dexter. |
4 | | Lily Allen It's not me, it's you
A fun pop album. It did grow off me. There are just a bit too many sexual innuendo's in the lyrics. |
5 | | Muse The Resistance
My first album of Muse that I have bought. More to see why everyone hates on it. While its not great, its not that bad. I have listened to most of Absolution/Origin, the Resistance doesn't show a great deal of progression, it does have some fun tunes from time to time. |
6 | | Karnivool Sound Awake
I love Themata, its aggressive and emotional. Sound Awake seems to be rather restraint and lacking the something that made Themata so great. It is a bit too soft which what Birds is there for. |
7 | | Oh Mercy Privileged Woes
