Dnor ranks The Silver Scream 2
My rankings for Ice Nine Kills newest album The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood from best to worst. |
1 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Farewell II Flesh - Chorus is written so well and the inclusion of Flight of the Bumblebee was awesome. |
2 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
The Box - Once again, the chorus is catchy and the inspiration is heavily woven into the lyrics. The "Demons Become Angels to Some" behind the chorus is my favorite part. |
3 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Funeral Derangements - Just an all together well written song. Also has one of the most memorable INK pre-breakdown introductions in "The flesh is living but the souls have spoiled, the wrath of God lives beneath this soil..." |
4 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Hip to Be Scared - About as gimmicky as a song comes especially as the bridge is a copycat of 80's new wave in homage to the theme of the scene in American Psycho where Patrick Bateman kills Paul with an axe while dancing to Huey Lewis and the News |
5 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Welcome to Horrorwood - Song is just catchy as hell. |
6 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Wurst Vacation - When my biggest qualm with a song is that the main gimmick is the German speaking, while the movie it's based on (Hostel) was set in Slovakia, I guess I can't really complain. |
7 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Ex-Mortis - I think my favorite part of this song is that it's a bit different than your normal metalcore you expect from INK. Definitely captured the goofy, tongue in cheek humor the original Evil Dead gave off well. |
8 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Assault & Batteries - Like this one at first, but it has fallen off hard. Sometimes gimmicky goes too far (INK in general) but sometimes it goes TOO TOO far (This Song) - which is a bummer because Child's Play was one of my favorites as a kid. |
9 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Take Your Pick - absolutely brutal song, and it goes so hard, but I agree with the consensus - the "Will you be mine" falsetto during the chorus literally makes me cringe when I hear it. |
10 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
F.L.Y. - Not a bad song, just boring. The choir-like parts early on are great, but it doesn't finish nearly as strong. |
11 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
Rainy Day - Super boring and generic song which kind of fits the movie it's based on I suppose. |
12 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
A Rash Decision - This is ranked so low for a few reasons - 1) I never really cared for Cabin Fever 2) One of my favorite tie ins to INK TSS songs are the voice-lines / theme songs which cabin fever never had a memorable version of either. |
13 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood
The Shower Scene - Song is trash, there I said it. By far the worst song on either album. The only saving grace is the fact they did use the sound from the movie when the woman is stabbed in the shower during the breakdown, otherwise, throw it away. |
