What would your order be?
Probably my least favourite production job of their albums, but almost every song still blows me away to this day. This is the album I think of when I think of the Sylosis sound.
Edge of the Earth
A great step up from their debut. Really epic sounding. I like Josh’s vocals better than their original vocalist’s for sure.
A really great follow up from Monolith. A bit more structured, but they don’t really sacrifice any of their sound because of that. The closer is one of my favourite songs.
Conclusion of an Age
A great debut that really impressed me and got me hyped for more to come. I think Josh became one of my favourite newer guitarists off this album alone.
Cycle of Suffering
Maybe tied for 4th with Conclusion...it’s really great to have them back, and this is still a great album. Production is awesome as well. It does feel a little by-the-numbers for them, but that could be partly due to waiting/anticipating for five long years. Any Sylosis is great Sylosis.
4 is 1 for me - I know it's their first album, but to this day it still goes hard. Agree with the rest of your placement tho
2 does go pretty hard
3 probably is my favorite, even though its not particularly consistent.
Victims and Pawns, To Build a Tomb, Leech and Mercy are top-tier Sylosis jams imo. I still get angry when I think about the studio fuck-up in TBAT. Would have been their crowning achievement.
Leech is actually one of my least favourite tracks on Dormant Heart tbh...and forgive me, but what is TBAT am I dumb or have I been sleeping on something?
Studio fuck-up in To Build a Tomb??
