good albums with bad production

ok so 'bad' may seem subjective at first glance, but for the purpose of this list, let's add albums that are either so muddy that it's hard to decipher instruments (not just bass because a lot of albums do that), a particular instrument is too high in the mix that it overpowers everything else, a particular instrument is too low in the mix that isn't just bass, or whatever other thing you believe makes production "bad" but is a good album nonetheless. don't just pick what are generally accepted as "good" albums either so pick something you actually like that has bad production.
1Bathory
Octagon

the room of metal music. give this a spin and reevaluate everything you believe in
2Metallica
St. Anger

this goes without saying
3Artillery
By Inheritance

ok so the production on this isn't "bad" on its own, but compared to other albums of its decade, it's unimpressive at best
4Demolition Hammer
Tortured Existence

some of scott burn's muddiest productions to a fault. the drums outside of the bass drum get drowned by the overly loud guitars, but the bass is nice and loud at least
5Candlemass
Ancient Dreams

the drums sound awful here, and messiah malcolm's vocal mix is oddly echoed and too loud (yes there's reverb on his vocals on nightfall, but they sounded much better mixed on that album)
6Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin
Stygian Bough Volume 1

eight sided boi
7Cradle of Filth
Cruelty and the Beast

dave
8Annihilator
Waking the Fury

jeff needs to keep his foot off that fuckin' fuzz pedal
9Black Sabbath
Vol. 4

master of reality still holds up reasonably well, and it came out a year before this. there's no excuse
