Rec Me Pop!

Enlightenment is realizing that pop music is dumb and stupid and prog rock and metal is better. Nirvana is realizing that, actually, *you* are dumb and stupid and pop can actually be good, fun, and well-constructed. I'm not quite there yet so help me out. All types/sub-genres/weirdness is welcome! The more, the better.

el_newg

it's like jazzy pop with some great grooves. lots of vocal layering. make sure to hear the AU/NZ version instead of the US version as they butchered the track listing. her next two albums move gradually toward more straight forward pop, but they still keep some eccentricity in aspects. some other great tracks from her are Miracle, Madhouse, Sweet Relief, Everybody Knows.

very poppy/feelgood type shit with a heavy emphasis on synths and acoustic instruments. vox remind me of regina spektor, whom you should also check if you've never taken the time because she is the absolute best
