Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King Virgin Steele - Heaven and Hell trilogy Running Wild - Black Hand Inn Scanner - Hypertrace Edguy - Theater of Salvation Metal Church - The Dark Twilight Force - Dawn of the Dragonstar as for the stuff already mentioned, Ecliptica, A Flame to the Ground Beneath, and Crystal Logic are all excellent picks.

Angra - Temple of Shadows Demetori - Manenjushaka ~ Nada Upasana Pundarika (if you've never heard touhou video game music this is good metal renditions of em with some proggy stuff; instrumentals) Equilibrium - Sagas (things call it viking but it's easily symphonic power folk with harsh vox to me) From the Dark - The Opera Ghost (super obscure but easily one of my favs) Into Eternity - Buried in Oblivion Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Tragedy

Azazzel 08.31.25	Sonata Arctica notably absent! lot of euro cheese here which is fine but I'm quite partial to the recent USPM output with more heavy metal influence like Traveler, Eternal Champion, Summerlands, Savage Oath.

SuzyC 09.01.25	You can't go wrong with Galneryus -> they are consistently incredible. I would also recommend Tyr (far-rite extremism); Unleash The Archers with Brittney Slayes doing the vocals; and pretty much everything by Gamma Ray.
