Review of Concerts (Sorta New to Sputnik)

Whattup Sputnik. I used to have an account here in like middle school. It was cringey. I have been missing making lists and reviews and all that jazz. I didn’t know what to make my first list about, but I’m bored, so here’s all the concerts I’ve been to (minus classical/sacred/church music concerts and school concerts, because those I have to attend for activities and not for enjoyment).
1Nine Inch Nails
Hesitation Marks

I saw Nine Inch Nails for my birthday in like 6th grade. My Dad brought me. I was an edgy kid, NIN were my favorite band (my first favorite band, probably) and Hesitation Marks was one of the first ‘new albums’ I ever listened to. In retrospect, the album was okay and I don’t remember much about the concert. Our seats were pretty terrible. That being said, the sound quality was amazing and Trent still is a great performer. I remember Hurt being particularly good.
2The Dillinger Escape Plan
One of Us Is the Killer

Saw them in Poughkeepsie NY before Dissociation came out. Amazing concert, I think Cult Leader opened. We were front and center for the action and I specifically remember Sugar Coated Sour starting and thinking it was the most beautiful noise I had ever experienced. I went with my two really good friends.
3The Dillinger Escape Plan
Dissociation

The best concert I’ve been to probably - the last Dillinger Show at Terminal 5 in NY. I saw them with my same two really good friends, we got baked as fuck, the crowd was crazy, the setlist wasn’t as good as the last one in my opinion but the whole experience was amazing.
4Lil Uzi Vert
Luv Is Rage 2

Saw Lil Uzi somewhere in Pennsylvania. I actually love Lil Uzi as a recording artist (though he does have some misses) but this concert sucked. Some people I went with had never been to another concert before, so I feel bad that this was there first exposure to live music. We were so far away from the stage. The crowd vibe was not my type. Everyone was constantly on their phones. When Lil Uzi came out he performed for like 25 minutes, basically dancing around and lip syncing, and left. Wack.
5Radiohead
A Moon Shaped Pool

Dillinger’s last show was good - but this concert is strong competition for best concert I’ve been to. I saw Radiohead at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Radiohead is probably my favorite band and this whole concert was just good vibes, a beautiful light show, perfect performances. The setlist was amazing - they started out with a string of AMSP tracks, pulled out tons of deep cuts like The Gloaming and Like Spinning Plates, and ended with the Bends. The King of Limbs tracks were especially good (Separator and Bloom) and far better than their album versions. Awesome awesome show.
6Electric Wizard
Dopethrone

I didn’t actually make it to see Electric Wizard... I got way too high in the back of the venue with my friends, and the sheer volume of the opener (Cough) made me nauseous. I went into the bathroom and passed the fuck out, hitting my head on the ground. So yeah... not much to say about this one. I left the venue with one of my friends before EW could even come out.
7Lil Tjay
True 2 Myself

Hometown Heroes concert in NYC. Main event was Lil Tjay, but there were a bunch of up and coming rappers as openers (Casanova, 22Gz, Flipp Dinero). Went with a bunch of friends and got drunk as shit. All of the rappers went pretty hard and I had lots of funny interactions with people in the crowd. Super entertaining show. I was never a Lil Tjay fan before the show but he was actually a great performer.
8Animal Collective
Sung Tongs

Somewhat a disappointment. I love the album Sung Tongs and was pumped to see them perform it live. However, the venue was a theatre and we were all seated. It kind of took away from the overall energy. For such a loose and folksy album the crowd participation was basically non existent. Still loved to see songs like Leaf House recreated. Just wish it was a more open and fun venue.
