07.26.20 | It's way more plot heavy and character driven than AC, the combat is way more precise (you cannot button mash whatsoever or you will die so quick), and the exploration and navigation systems are so intuitive and innovative. A lot of reviews say the game isn't unique but I couldn't disagree more, refreshing is definitely a good word for this game. |

07.26.20 | The mechanics are superb, combat is so fluid and reactive, platforming is pretty great, and like I said, the exploration is just phenomenal, best aspect of the game. I've logged probably about 30 hours so far doing a lot of exploration and side quests (which are so so good in this game) and I'm right at the start of Act 2 out of 3 acts
Also no sorry there's not a huge focus on class systems or anything like that, there's level trees and upgrades but I'd liken that aspect more to like Far Cry |

07.26.20 | Played Far Cry 4 - that’s about the level I expected and sufficient so long as the combat and exploration stands out. I just like some sort of levelling tree/skill progression implementation. Exploring the world is the most attractive selling point from what I’ve read.

07.26.20 | I've seen a lot of reviewers saying the gsme is like 25-30 hours if you do all the side content and that's honestly total bs. I'm like 10% through Act 2 and I've logged like 35 hours.
You don't level up in this game, you instead spend points on technique upgrades for your 4 sword stances, and other things such as special abilities like reduced fall damage, an ability to revive you once after falling in combat, etc.
Also comparing it to Assassin's creed is a massive insult. Like Slex said it's more akin to Witcher 3/RD2/Horizon Zero Dawn. I wouldn't say the writing is nearly as good as Witcher 3 though. Some plot lines are engaging, others (esp side quests) can be quite rote. That hardly matterd tho when you have a world as engrossing and a combat system as fun and rewarding as Ghost's. |

07.26.20 | yeah Slex we're basically in agreement. Ghost is damn near a 10 for me. can't remember the last time I got this wrapped up in a game. i mean i love gaming and do it nearly every day, but rarely do i want to just sit down for like 10 hours straight playing one. Ghost is hard to put down
also: random but i found this spot in the second act (it's a shrine by the sea) and near the top is this huge rock you can climb up, although there's nothing there. at first i was kind of let down that there was nothing there to reward my climbing skillz, but i went into the photo editor standing at the edge of the rock, and took several 1 min videos of jin overlooking the water as the waves roll in. got the sun perfectly reflecting off of the waves and it just looked awesome. the vids i took are in different weather conditions and with different filters on. gonna try to edit all the clips in adobe premiere pro to make a fucking badass screensaver, probably going to be hard as fuck to do tho. |

I don't recall people whining and moaning this much about Joffrey being a loathsome pos in GoT. Characters make stupid decisions in even the best movies/games and we don't tear them apart for it. LoU2 tells a story that take risks and I'll far sooner take that over another generic AAA story. |

07.27.20 | It's everything but generic I didn't say that. One ultimate problem I had is that the structure of the story is all fucked. The half and half thing really defeated the purpose of me warming up and getting to know everyone Abby was close to. It would have benefited from a story that alternated between each other. Plus, since ellie went after abby in the end and abby didn't, ellie regressed and abby grew, but it would have been the same way if it was the other way around. They basically backed themselves into a corner with ellie. I could go on, but this is a Ghost thread and just my stance on the story/character arcs. |
