Ranking favourite bands: Best Leprous Albums
My personal ranking of all of Leprous's studio albums hitherto (17/07/2019) released. This band hasn't released a single poor album in my opinion, so this list was a real difficult exercise for me, especially considering all of their albums are of such a high quality and share many of the same qualities. |
6 | | Leprous Tall Poppy Syndrome
Although I'm sure this debut album is loved by many a Leprous listener, for me it never really elicited anything close to glee whilst I was listening to it. I can't quite figure out as to why this is the case, however I must recognize the talent and musical ability on display on this album. Leprous has never crafted a remarkably poor record and this release is no exception. |
5 | | Leprous Pitfalls
Leprous's newest effort. Although it certainly doesn't top The Congregation or Bilateral or even Coal, it is still a solid effort. The synth is strong with this one, as well as the symphonic elements. The vocals are amazing and the melancholy that seeps through all of the songs is almost tangible. The compositions are slighly less epic perhaps, and some of the more poppy elements feel a tad bit inappropriate. Still, a solid record by any means. |
4 | | Leprous Malina
Leprous's (hitherto) latest effort, is by all means a solid record. One could argue it's once again a slightly less impressive iteration of their previous works, however it still contains so many excellent compositions, especially the song Mirage caught my attention. Let us hope their next record can top this one. |
3 | | Leprous Coal
Although this effort, to me at least, feels like a slightly worse version of The Congregation in many ways, this still entails it's an excellent Leprous record. It features the same progressive subtleties, fantastic compositions and amazing vocal and instrumental work that I love about this band. |
2 | | leprous The Congregation
This was the album that originally turned me on to Leprous and it was the first album of theirs that I purchased a physical copy of. It was also my favourite work of theirs for a very long time. Although it may not be as grandiose as Bilateral, this album is still fantastically composed and features some amazing tracks: Slave and Third Law especially blew me away. |
1 | | Leprous Bilateral
This album is absolutely incredible in so many ways. From the massively epic compositions, to the extremely creative experimental elements, the amazing vocals and the generally admirable musicianship. Simply fantastic in every way imaginable, bordering on masterpiece. |
