| Stuff I bought vol. 6
Long time, no see, but I cut down on buying records for a bit, as I was investing in renewing my musical equipment (new guitar and new amp). I still don't have enough cash, but yesterday I thought ''screw it'', and bought 3 records which I planned on buying for some time now. | 1 | | Blind Guardian Live Beyond the Spheres
I am a big Blind Guardian fan- I consider ''Nightfall in Middle-Earth'' one of the best albums of all time, and it is the best on my personal list. It so happens that I like live albums, especially when they're a bigger project. This 3 album set is just the thing, and I will indeed look forward to sitting down on an evening and just listening to the whole thing. The cover artwork is awesome too- I don't know why, but I really like covers with space factors on them, see ''Nostradamus'' by Judas Priest. | 2 | | The Faceless In Becoming a Ghost
I am not a huge extreme metal fan, but this album draw my attention with, as it usually is in my case- its artwork, which I love. I was also interested in some of the backstories concerning the main man. So the two factors attracting me to the band are of the worst origin, but when I listened to the music, it was a blast, but I must admit that it had to grow on me a bit. I definitely will use this album as a bunch of lessons for my playing. | 3 | | Emerson, Lake and Palmer Brain Salad Surgery
Progressive albums are something I really like to buy from time to time. My album collection is seperated into genres, and for some time now the prog section is slowly expanding, which makes me a happy person. When I was much younger, I was a bit scared of prog and was worried that it would be boring, but tastes change, and I really started to enjoy the classics and their heirs. I was missing an ELP record in my collection, and despite the fact that I pondered on buying ''Tarkus'' many a time, I decided on getting the one which musically fits me a bit more for some reason. And, once again, superb cover. | |
