My Top 10 Favorite Bands of All Time

This is going to be a list of my favorite bands. This is just my opinion. I'm going to talk about why I love each band, and give my favorite album and song by them. Some of these are bands that I like because my dad listens to them, so I've grown up loving them. The exceptions to that are numbers 1, 8, and 9. Honorable mentions: Disturbed, Linkin Park, Korn, Killswitch Engage, Escape the Fate, Pantera, Three Days Grace, Megadeth, Volbeat

I was introduced to Opeth by my theatre teacher, and they eventually evolved to become my favorite band. Their songs have some of the best instrumentals that I've ever heard, and Mikael Akerfeldt is a great singer. In my opinion, they've never made a bad song. While their change to progressive rock was drastic change, I think that they pulled it off perfectly. Overall, I love Opeth so fucking much.
Favorite album: Blackwater Park
Favorite song: To Bid You Farewell (my favorite song)

My dad introduced me to Trivium years ago, but it wasn't until about a year ago that I really got into them. I wasn't a fan of their 1st, 3rd, and 5th albums initially, but now I love all of their albums, and Silence in the Snow is my favorite album of all time. Matt Heafy is one of my favorite singers, and it's awesome seeing how much he's improved as a vocalist. Trivium also have some of my favorite guitar solos. Apart from "Upon the Shores", Trivium have never made a song that I haven't liked.
Favorite album: Silence in the Snow
Favorite song: The Rising

What metal-head doesn't like Metallica? Metallica are the biggest band in the world, and there's a good reason for that. They've made some of the best albums of all time. They only have a few songs that I don't like and, apart from Lulu, not a single album that I haven't enjoyed. Kirk Hammett is my favorite guitarist of all time, and James Hetfield is one of my favorite singers. Metallica could have easily been number 1, but I simply prefer the first two bands more.
Favorite album: Ride the Lightning
Favorite song: Fade to Black
4Avenged Sevenfold

If I made this list a year ago, Avenged Sevenfold would have been number 1. They were my favorite band for years. M. Shadows was my favorite singer, Hail to the King was my favorite album, and Shepherd of Fire was my favorite song. Now, I still love them, but are not my favorite band anymore. They have never made a song or album that I dislike, and will always be in my top 5 favorite bands. It breaks my heart to put them at number 4, but I had to.
Favorite album: Waking the Fallen
Favorite song: Coming Home
5Five Finger Death Punch

Five Finger Death Punch is easily the greatest band name that I've ever heard. It's so awesome. And the band makes some great music. I've seen a lot of hate towards the band, and I don't understand why people dislike them. The Bleeding is one of my favorite songs ever, and their cover of Bad Company is my favorite cover song. Their softer songs are some of my favorites as well. Also, their singer's name is Ivan. How can you not love that?
Favorite album: Got Your Six
Favorite song: The Bleeding
6All That Remains

All That Remains is another great band name, and another great band. Metalcore is my second favorite type of metal, and All That Remains have made some of my favorite metalcore albums. Yes, they did go soft with The Order of Things and Madness, but those albums are still pretty good albums. Phil Labonte is a great singer, and the band members are great at what they do.
Favorite album: The Fall of Ideals
Favorite song: This Calling
7Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria are another band that I've seen a lot of hate towards, and I don't agree. They were my favorite band for a while up until about two months ago. Their first three albums are masterpieces, and The Black is an underrated album that is pretty much only disliked by fans because it features a different singer. The only album by them that I'm not a big fan of is their self titled album. Overall, they are a great band, and I love their music.
Favorite album: From Death to Destiny
Favorite song: A Lesson Never Learned
8Black Veil Brides

Black Veil Brides are very underrated. I don't care that they're emo. I just care about the music, and they make good music. In the End is my second favorite song of all time. They've made a few songs that I don't like, but I like all of their albums. We Stitch These Wounds is one of the most underrated albums ever, and I love it.
Favorite album: Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones
Favorite song: In the End
9Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden are a classic band. Countless bands have been inspired by them, and it's easy to see why when they make so much great music. Unlike some other bands, Iron Maiden's overall sound hasn't changed too drastically over their career, which is a great thing. Bruce Dickinson's very high vocal range is pleasing to listen to, and the other band members play very well in every single song. I understand why fans didn't like the Blaze Bayley era, but I think that those 2 albums are very underrated. A Matter of Life and Death is my favorite Maiden album, mainly because of the modern production and the overall sound of the album. Honestly, I can't find anything bad about Iron Maiden. They're a flawless band.
Favorite album: A Matter of Life and Death
Favorite song: Hallowed Be Thy Name
10Bullet for My Valentine

Bullet For My Valentine have a very interesting discography. Their newest album, Gravity, used to be my least favorite album ever until yesterday, and now I love it. Temper Temper is a criminally underrated album. Scream Aim Fire, Venom, and The Poison are masterpieces. Fever is a great album, but the title track is horseshit. They were the first band that I saw in concert when they were opening for Avenged Sevenfold, and I hadn't gotten into them until after that. My favorite thing about Bullet is that they often mix my two favorite metal subgenres, thrash and metalcore, together, and I love it.
Favorite album: Scream Aim Fire
Favorite song: Tears Don't Fall
