| [REC] Slammy DM that doesn't suck
Below is a list of slammy dm albums that I enjoy, but I'm having a hard time finding similar stuff, because there is so much slam that sucks (really bad). So please, if you will, please rec me GOOD/GREAT/AMAZING slammy DM. | 1 | | Splattered Carnivortex | 2 | | Pyrexia Sermon of Mockery | 3 | | Dehumanized Prophecies Foretold | 4 | | Disentomb Misery | 5 | | Dying Fetus Make Them Beg for Death | 6 | | Visceral Disgorge Ingesting Putridity
NexCeleris
This album is what I would label slamming brutal death metal that does not suck. I wouldn't say this album is groundbreaking in any way, it's just straight up slammy dm to mosh to and in that way, the album delivers.
3.5 | 7 | | Pathology Awaken to the Suffering
NexCeleris
The guitars and mix sound huge, but I cannot for the life of me get over the vocals. It sounds like the vocalist is trying to grunt with listerine in his mouth. Gurgle gurgle blurgh! The drums sound like they are programmed.
2.5 | 8 | | Ingested Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering
NexCeleris
Kind of a crossover between metalcore/deathcore and bdm, not my cup of tea.
2.5 | 9 | | Ingested The Architect of Extinction
NexCeleris
See 8.
2.5 | 10 | | Amputated Genitals Human Meat Gluttony
Cygnatti
This album is from Colombian origin and boy do they know how to make an album that riffs like a motherfucker, in Antracks' words. Excellent stuff! I would not characterize this as slam, but that's okay.
4 | 11 | | Enmity Illuminations of Vile Engorgement
Cygnatti
I cannot get into this, perhaps I'm a pussy, but I don't get it. Doesn't matter where in the album you are listening, because everything is turned to mush. There are no discernable individual tracks, just chaos. The production is not great either. This is slammy dm that sucks imho.
1.5 | 12 | | Diphenylchloroarsine Subterranean Existential Warfare
cylinder
There is an explosion every now and then, some bree bree bree (both guitars and vocals) and boring recycled, very simple chord progressions. I nearly fell asleep listening to this. It's not good, unfortunately.
2 | 13 | | Agonal Breathing Pure Agony
cylinder
Absolutely terrible, almost unlistenable, repetative crap. What a stinker of an album. Horrible vocals, horribly simplistic riffing, bad sounding drums and all in all boring to tears. The worst album on the list, unfortunately not by a great distance.
1 | 14 | | Postcoital Ulceration Continuation of Defective Existence After Multiple
cylinder
Finally! Great production, audible wet bass, not overly simplistic, excellent vocals. This one is going into my exercise rotation.
3.5 | 15 | | Jenovavirus Demo 1
cylinder
This is great stuff! I've heard it only once so far, but I see this one growing on me.
3.5 | 16 | | Blastocystia Upper Triassic Slamcataclysm
cylinder
I dig the guitar tone and the vocals. Also, there are no explosions! This one has potential. Sounds heavy as a mf.
3 | 17 | | Slamadeus Slamphony No. 1
cylinder
This is great! Much better than I expected from a band with the name Slamadeus. This won't be the only time I'll be listening to this album for sure.
3.5 | 18 | | Analepsy Quiescence
0xME | 19 | | Abominable Putridity The Anomalies of Artificial Origin
0xME
I like this quite a bit. The production is great, the instruments sound great and it keeps the listener interested and curious for the next move.
4 | 20 | | Cytotoxin Nuklearth
0xME
Technical Brutal Death Metal, that's a hit or miss for me, but I have to say that this album sounds pretty sick. I see this one growing on me.
3 | 21 | | Wormed Krighsu
0xME
Not slammy at all, very fast and techy in fact! Not what I like.
2.5 | 22 | | Goemagot Eradication of Insignificant Beings
ExecutiveExecuterexe
One of the very few "modern" slam albums that I like. It's still not my favorite type of brutal dm, but this album provides that there is potential!
3.5 | 23 | | Devourment Obscene Majesty
Bonus REC!
As expected, it took a while and repeated listens to let this unfold properly. This album is probably the heaviest I have ever heard. Somehow, it's so unique in the genre that I keep coming back to it.
3.5 | 24 | | Party Cannon Injuries Are Inevitable
cylinder | |

06.23.24 | No clue how cylinder keeps coming up with cuts as deep as Blastocystia and Slamadeus. Astounding, really. | Jurtz

06.24.24 | Yeah I see it a lot in slam, but it always clips the shit out of my headphones/speakers and I wonder why they would add this? | NexCeleris

06.28.24 | bruh 13 goes hard af, and the vocals are amazing. it is really simplistic, but it's pure brutality. maybe i went a little too far to the slam side there.
glad you dug 14 tho, def a lot more going on in the compositions there. and that bass is wet and tasty indeed | cylinder
06.28.24 | here's one more i think miiiight be more your speed?
Party Cannon - Injuries are Inevitable | Jurtz
06.28.24 | I hope I didn't offend you, I really appreciate your recommendations! I can be a little over the top ("passionate") in my wording sometimes, so take it with a grain of salt. I'll add Party Cannon - Injuries are Inevitable to the list, thanks! | cylinder
06.29.24 | Haha no I’m not offended. Honestly I kinda knew that type of thing wasn’t really what you were looking for, I was just curious what your thoughts would be. I love that album for its comically over-the-top brutality - the way every song is basically one breakdown that just gets slower and slower and slower. But I can def see how that might come across as boring to others | Jurtz
07.02.24 | Well I'm glad to hear that! | Thranth
07.02.24 | can someone point me in the direction of metal i can ponder to | Jurtz
