Top 7 Songs of the First Quarter of 2020
this is mostly metalcore, hardcore, post- hardcore stuff cuz thats what I like lol |
1 | Dealer Suffer in Rhythm
The boys down under came outta nowhere with their second EP and it was somehow better than Soulburn. Suffer in Rhythm closed out the 4 song collection with insanely fast riffs, and energetic drums, before capping off with a beautiful clean sung change-up and a breakdown that sent me into oblivion. Perfect mix of heaviness, creativity and catchiness. |
2 | Loathe (UK) Two-Way Mirror
While Loathe's near perfect album was definitely leaning on the heavy heavy heavy side, I believe the band excels the most with their shoegazey, deftones-ish vibe that is sprinkled throughout their discography. This song is a perfect example of that. |
3 | In Hearts Wake Worldwide Suicde
Where the fuck did this come from. Heavy af and so different and cool from anything else we have heard from them. |
4 | Ocean Grove Shimmer
Ocean Grove's new album is a major blast from the past. The band mixed a great deal of 90s esque nu-metal with their own sound that only they can create to complete an album standout, Shimmer. |
5 | Polaris (AUS) Martyr (Waves)
Prob gunna get alot of hate for this one, but my favorite song of off polaris' last album wasnt Landmine or Hypermania, weird, I think Martyr is alot different than the rest of the album and is for sure a standout. |
6 | ALAZKA Living Hell
Alazka bounced back very well from losing their clean vocalist and seemingly got better. Dropping a melodic masterpiece like Living Hell. The beautiful guitar melody really captures the emotion of this song. |
7 | Code Orange Swallowing the Rabbit Whole
heavy af. |
