This one had to be here of course. Everybody knows (... OK, I wish this was the case, but still) Pirates, but these crazily consistent Japanese men have made some superbly lovely stuff other than that! Bounce particularly is in my head always, that main hook is amazing. Just four guys (a pianist, a bassist, a jazz drummer and a pop/rock drummer) having FUN and boosting our energy levels.

Let it All Out

One of the all-time great artists, regardless of genre. Easily said for a lady who felt equally at home (both vocally and for piano playing) with jazz, spirituals, soul, funk, pop, and some styles wholly her own. And what an amazingly emotive and expressive voice. You got to hear it to believe it.
