| Slipknot - TESF - Volumized
Before diving in - I am a big fan of TESF. With that said, however, I understand the issues that many have with this album. It is fairly disjointed, with an old school banger positioned besides a more experimental track. And then you throw in all the slow, atmospheric tracks. A mixed bag to most. I aimed to fix that - by arranging the album in 3 volumes, as follows. Also had to pull in the b side Bone Church. | 1 | | Slipknot The End, So Far
Volume 1 (Surfacing) - 1: Hive Mind; 2: Warranty; 3: H377; 4: The Dying Song; 5: Chapeltown Rag. 22 minutes of old-school bangers. For the fans there since the beginning - “isn’t this what you came here for”. | 2 | | Slipknot The End, So Far
Volume 2 (Gently) - 6: Bone Church; 7: Adderall; 8: Finale; 9: Heirloom. 20+ minutes of the outlier tracks. Puts Adderall in the correct context, and leads up to and finishes strong with Heirloom (a SS esque track). | 3 | | Slipknot The End, So Far
Volume 3 (Vermillion) - 10: Yen; 11: Medicine for the Dead; 12: Acidic; 13: De Sade. Nearly 22 minutes of proggy, experimental metal to send you off….perhaps to the future sound of Slipknot? | |

03.13.23 | One more thought. Volumes 1 and 3 are each fairly cohesive and could serve as stand-alone EPs. Don’t think so with Volume 2 though - it needs the bookends or would come out weak. |
