| Diggin' Deep in the Bins
This List is what it looks like when you've pretty much bought everything out there - and are really diggin' through the Used CD bins for what you've missed over the last 30 years. That is not to say that 2nd and Charles (in Kennesaw and Buford) and CD Warehouse (in Kennesaw) did not have great selection. | 1 | | My Sister's Machine Wallflower
AIC's little brother? This is like Korn, who made it huge, and Adema who crashed down hard. Quite a good album though. Same with Diva. | 2 | | Luxt American Beast
I had heard of this band - apparently they were one of the big Sacramento bands back in the early days of Deftones and Far. A decent album. But whoever allowed "Suck it Down" to be recorded needs to be reprimanded. This track could only have been written, and deemed "a hit?" with an "official" video in the nu metal years. | 3 | | Sinch Clearing the Channel
A Slightly heavier Hurt. Good album. | 4 | | Rodrigo y Gabriela 11:11
Amazing what two can do with acoustic guitars... | 5 | | Cave In Jupiter
This album is surprisingly great - the progressive tones run amok Throughout. Took a bit for the vocals to settle with me. | 6 | | Ty Segall Manipulator
A great Ty Segall release - the last few ones I've picked up were a bit too soft for me - this one is more along the lines of Fuzz | 7 | | Shadows Fall Fire From the Sky
Brian Fair has a badass voice. This album does not disappoint. What ever happened to this band? | 8 | | Killswitch Engage Atonement
I've read that this is Killswitch by the numbers - yes indeed. | |

08.15.20 | Just by vinyl like a normal person. | BAT
08.15.20 | the majority of my cd/vhs/dvd/vinyl collection came from thriftstores or a record stores '$1 budget' section. last week i got the wwf soundtrack volume 2, chocalate starfish and hotdog flavored water, new orders technique, some crust band called resist and exist, random alt country called o'death, fun loving criminals, and funeral by arcade fire. on the other hand i got some slam in the mail, and i tend to buy cds at concerts aswell | Assemblage
08.15.20 | Never checked out that Shadows Fall record, but The War Within is still amazing to this day. Similar? | JDubb
08.16.20 | BAT, I'm with u - love those budget sections - have found many a "treasure" there over the years. Assemblage, Fire from the Sky sounds like a mix of The War WIthin musically and their earlier albums vocally (e.g. Of One Blood). | ReturnToRock

Oh shit, there's two of us... | JDubb
08.17.20 | Perhaps three. I hope we aren't all trying to buy the same albums BAT and ReturnToRock. But perhaps so... | BAT
08.17.20 | i'm from maryland/borderline suburbs of dc, in recent years i've slacked off a bit but it's gotten harder to find any gems. thrift stores back in the 00s had like 5 vhs tapes for a dollar and a designated asile, nowadays its a shelf of like batman/sisteract/independance day for like 3bucks a pop. some of my favorite spots are library bookstores, generally stocked with donated collections and like 25cents for anything. i have a boatload of 90s music, today i snagged one of the first dir en grey dvds | JDubb
08.17.20 | Every now and then, BAT, my library has some choice albums 4 sale. FL flea markets are a great resource for the bargain bins. | JDubb
08.17.20 | Sharkattack, no. I am a bit of an audiophile - can’t stand the scratchy Background noise of vinyl. Why record something high quality/ high resolution Digital and dump it on a subpar media. It’s worse than a 128 kB/s mp3. Lived thru tapes too - they sucked. |
