Best of the Decade: Pt. 1 (2010 to 2014)
This is my truly subjective list of favorite albums between 2010 to 2019, which were fixtures in my playlist. Pt. 1 includes those albums released between 2010 to 2014, in alphabetical order. As you can see: I try to keep one foot in the past, with the older bands, and the other foot in the present. I thank Sputnik and its knowledgeable users for introducing me to many new bands. |
1 | | Apparatus Evolution |
2 | | Art of Anarchy Art of Anarchy
I thought this was Scott Weiland's true swansong, bringing back the energy and power he displayed on STP - Core and the first Velvet Revolver album. |
3 | | ASG Blood Drive |
4 | | Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare |
5 | | Baroness Yellow and Green
This is the album that introduced me to Baroness; not that I don't love the Red and Blue albums. |
6 | | Black Label Society Order Of The Black |
7 | | Black Sabbath 13
The Deluxe version of this album is worth it's weight in gold. Honestly, some of the best songs are on the second disc. |
8 | | Black Veil Brides Wretched and Divine |
9 | | Boil A New Decay |
10 | | Brant Bjork Black Power Flower |
11 | | Ceterum Fathom |
12 | | Chaos Divine The Human Connection |
13 | | Coheed and Cambria Year of the Black Rainbow
To me, this is a truly underrated album. I even love the production and Industrial tones on this album. I also really dug Afterman: Ascension and Decension during this time period. |
14 | | Deftones Koi No Yokan |
15 | | Five Finger Death Punch The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1
This album, as well as all the guest spots, rules. |
16 | | Foo Fighters Wasting Light |
17 | | John Garcia John Garcia |
18 | | Goat Live Ballroom Ritual
Goat live is insane and incredible. Studio albums from Goat, just not as good. |
19 | | Greenleaf Nest of Vipers |
20 | | In Flames Sounds of a Playground Fading |
21 | | In This Moment Blood |
22 | | Jeremy Irons and the Ratgang Malibus Spirit Knife
This album has it all. Even my Father, who despises anything heaver than the Eagles, thought this album has some beautiful moments. It is indeed awesome! |
23 | | Kamelot Silverthorn |
24 | | Killer Be Killed Killer Be Killed |
25 | | Machine Head Unto the Locust |
26 | | Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork |
27 | | Rishloo Living as Ghosts with Buildings as Teeth |
28 | | Royal Blood Royal Blood |
29 | | Russian Circles Memorial |
30 | | Skyharbor Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos
This is a tossup and could also have been Guiding Lights. But I really like the contrast in vocal stylings in Blinding White Noise. |
31 | | Stone Sour House of Gold and Bones - Part 1
These albums were incredible. |
32 | | Stone Sour House of Gold and Bones - Part 2
Both of them. |
33 | | The Sword Warp Riders |
34 | | TesseracT Altered State
Tesseract's album "One" was also released during this time period, and is a force to be reckoned with. |
35 | | Toundra III |
36 | | Trivium In Waves
Sorry, this will always be my favorite Trivium album. |
37 | | Truckfighters Universe |
38 | | Twelve Foot Ninja Silent Machine |
39 | | Vista Chino Peace
Kyuss Lives!!!!!!!!!!!! |
40 | | Volbeat Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies |
