Butt's Boringest AOTY List 2022

These were a good record albums from earlier this years.
1Big Thief
Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You

I believe in this warm album. Indie, folk, alternative, twang. Excellent melodies and guitar. Creative. Like a long journey. Love love love it
2Chat Pile
God's Country

This one allllmost took the #1 spot. Obsessed with this band lately. Somehow never gets old. WHY?
3Denzel Curry
Melt My Eyez See Your Future

This album did not get enough attention. This man is easily one of the best rappers in the game right now. Love the jazz/funk interwoven in these tracks, yet he also still throws in some bangers
4Immolation
Acts of God

The kings are back. I swear they don't age. Album kicks booty
5Dream Widow
Dream Widow

If you had told me that a band I don't care for - Foo Fighters - would make an album this year in a totally different genre, and that it would make my top 5, I would have never believed it. Unironically one of the best and most well-rounded metal albums of the year.
6Kendrick Lamar
Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers

Still doesn't come anywhere close to TPAB or GKMC, but still a great album.
7King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard
Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava

Three different King Gizz albums from this year are fighting for this spot. I change my mind daily. This record has the best album art and is really jammy, so I think it is my favorite
8Pinegrove
11:11

Organic, analog, inviting. Tommy Wiseau's words of the day.
9Honey Harper
Honey Harper and the Infinite Sky

Almost forgot to listen to this one, and so glad I remembered it. A mix of country/folk/americana with those sweet 70s fleetwood mac harmonies. Good shit.
10Turnover
Myself in the Way

fuck you guys, this album is fun and groovy. Probably isn't actually in my top 10, but I did listen to it a lot
