This Week in Music

Things I have listened to this past week that tickle my fancy enough to organize them here on the list function. Very nifty and cool. In order based on enjoyment.
1Terminally Your Aborted Ghost
Inanimately Soundless

5.0

Usually I hate grind and many forms of metal but this sheds all the negative aspects of those genres. Amazing metal music.
2The Associates
Perhaps

5.0

AaS turned me onto this release which is a fantastic fusion of prog leanings with some crazed 80s synthpop. A potent mix that really does its job.
3Slowdive
Slowdive

4.5

Only just now hearing this album but its absolutely amazing
4Let's Eat Grandma
I'm All Ears

4.0

This band knows how to craft a fine product that really owns face. Lush and chilled out music for those wanting some killer indie.
5Count to Altek
Hybrid Symbiont

4.0

One of my favorite AaS's releases, might need a review to full convey my thoughts about this one... Does a good job of being insanely atmospheric, and its probably the weirdest darned thing you'll hear all year. That will do for now.
6Nicholas Szczepanik
Astilbe Rubra

4.0 (leaning on 4.5)

An astounding artists I stumbled upon who is slowly becoming one of my favorites of alltime. I plan on listening to his entire discography and trying to show more people on this site. He is a genius of drone and classical.
7Nicholas Szczepanik
Sundries

4.0

Another work of sublime beauty from Nicholas.
8Wild Pink
Yolk in the Fur

3.0

When I read Americana, I cringed. When I started listening, I stayed.
9Pram
Across the Meridian

3.0

Apparently this a low point for this band judging by some comments but I liked it well enough. I am interested in what else they have to offer. They have a huge discography but an almost lounge and organic style that I really want to explore more. Recommendations like this band are very much welcome.
10Hopesfall
Arbiter

3.0 (leaning on 3.5)

Don't understand any hate for this album. Its just good music from start to finish. Of course its not going to be as good as their early work when post-hardcore was in its heyday. But its a sweet album, with tons of cool guitar parts that I will have to keep coming back to to fully absorb. I may eventually bump this up a few notches because it only gets better the more I listen to it.
