Converge albums ranked
In the wake of their amazing new 7 inch I thought I'd look back at one of my all time favorite bands excellent discography. This is my opinion, keep that in mind at all times. |
8 | | Converge Halo in a Haystack
I describe this album with two words that usually never apply to Converge, bland and average. Though there's nothing inherently terrible about this album, it just is absolutely swallowed in the massive shadows that every other record of theirs has left behind them. The instrumentals and vocals aren't as captivating, and it just feels like nothing special. Even the artwork is boring, which is something I've never said about any other Converge album. |
7 | | Converge Petitioning the Empty Sky
A great album but not as groundbreaking as their later albums. To me this is where Converge really showed their power and potential. |
6 | | Converge When Forever Comes Crashing
On this album Converge got their foot in the door of creativity and gave us something excellent. More diverse and dynamic than Petitioning the Empty Sky with better production, thicker more impressive instrumentation and much more controlled and powerful vocals. |
5 | | Converge Axe to Fall
All the guest features on this album each bring something interesting to the table and give it a very unique artistic flair. However, it is still very much Converge and with it they deliver another fantastic record. |
4 | | Converge You Fail Me Redux
While You Fail Me was already a great album, the vastly superior production on this remaster add a layer to the album that was missing at first. Every aspect of the album is enhanced and made more powerful and captivating. This is one of the few instances where a simple remaster changed a great album into an absolutely fantastic one. |
3 | | Converge No Heroes
This album is often regarded as one of their weakest, and I fail to fathom why. I think No Heroes is one of Converge's heaviest, rawest and most emotional albums. The short song lengths deliver rapid knockout punches one after the other with dense instrumentation and passionate yet savage vocals. |
2 | | Converge All We Love We Leave Behind
To release such an amazing album this late in their career is stunning and extremely exciting. Converge sound as passionate and on point as they ever were, and I hope this continue to amaze as they proudly push on. |
1 | | Converge Jane Doe
An undisputed classic. The album is chaotic and brutal yet filled with nuance and subtle details. Stunning instrumental prowess and furious and passionate vocals alongside emotionally tinged lyrics create a truly breathtaking experience. |
